- People were not friendly at this hotel at all. And 3.50 euro for a water at the hotel counter. Very small room for 2 people.

+ Nice quiet location but well located for all key areas of the city. Good quality rooms. Very clean and well maintained.

- Bathroom doesn't have a shelf or space to place personal toiletries (shaving kit, toothbrush, etc.) which was a minor irritant. No real choice of restaurants in easy walking distance of the hotel.

+ Right off the number 2 tram stop which makes it very convenient to the Van Gogh and Rijks museums. Quiet neighborhood and the nearby Vondelpark is lovely. Breakfast is very nice with a good variety. Staff friendly and helpful.

- Our room had a 2 foot long stripe of mud in the middle of a white wall which made you wonder though the rest of the room was clean. Bathroom/shower combo was enclosed in a combination of clear or frosted glass which provided minimal privacy.

+ Nice rooms, friendly and very positive staff. Nice surroundings a bit out of the hussle of downtown Amsterdam, but with good public transportation connections. Excellent price vs quality.

+ Friendly service and good location.

- It was very discouraging to discover mould on the wall behind the curtain and cobwebs in the bathroom. Not to mention an unidentified stop on the pillow. We also couldn't quite figure out how to manage the double airing system of a hearter and an air-coditioner working simultaneously. They also made a hell of a noise (not very romantic, as you can imagine). It is also not very romantic to find a bathroom with fairly see-through walls. Some things you just don't want your partner to see, no matter how intimate you are.

+ Very convenient for the tram and Vondelpark. Very helpful staff. Very nice bar and breakfast. Very good price. Clean and comfortable. Almost no noise from the street.

- Room was a little small - no desk space. Lighting in bathroom was a little poor for shaving, shower doors did not close completely so some water ended up on the floor.

+ Good sized rooms for Amsterdam and great bathroom/shower. All staff are very helpful at all times. Nice little patio area to sit by the bar, hotel looks stylish and sleek, especially the bar area.

- Rooms have no mirrors apart from in the bathroom. Using hair straightners and having to plug it in with water round you feet is a little worrying. Is a good 15 min walk into the main area of Amsterdam.

- The cost of the single room was far too high for a room of that size and the amenities are basic. A few more towels would be appreciated and also a towel rail on or by the sink would be very helpful.

+ Staff was fantastic! Tram line #2 was right outside the front door and Vondelpark a few steps away.

- The ONLY thing wrong was that there was an awful smell coming from the plumbing in the bathroom. I seemed to be in the pipes in the building though, and not our room specifically. Otherwise everything was fantastic ~ my new favorite place to stay in Amsterdam.

+ Excellent location, about 20 minutes from the airport and about 20 minutes to Central Station. Leidseplein is approx 10 minutes on the tram. The hotel is quiet, the staff are friendly and helpful, the Vondelpark is definitely worth a visit. It's behind the hotel about 2 minutes walk. The room we stayed in was clean, very comfortable and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable.

- There is nothing that I would find to complain about. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

- Rooms a bit small, no minibar, just a shower in the bathroom. Drinks very expensive, but so's Amsterdam.

+ First rate hotel! Excellent location. Short transit ride to city centre or walkable. Right next to Vondelpark. Staff exceptionally helpful. Rooms in original tower very large and beautifully renovated. Look forward to staying again.

- "Glass bathroom" was unacceptable to me and my party, and we will not use this hotel again. Furthermore it is a feature which we will all check and avoid for all future hotel bookings.

+ Stayed before and will stay again. Took a group of 20 and was organised extremely well by the back office staff (special mention to Ms Debbie V.D. Werf) who was outstanding in organising our group booking.

- Having lived in Holland I am used to the Dutch but unfortunately my friends in my group found their abrasiveness disappointing. I did too, and one particular staff member made a derogatory comment in Dutch which I understood and thought was pathetic really. Only downside but come on Dutchies, you need to come across a little more friendlier than you do (not all of course, but certainly quite a few of the front desk).

+ Staff was most friendly and helpful. Some nice restaurants in area. A restaurant named Bond is only a block away and offered a very nice atmosphere, great food, and at a respectable price.

- Hotel advertisement leads one to believe they are located on Vondel Park, however they are not. This was greatly disappointing. Also, stairway to room smelled quite musty. Bathroom in room offered zero privacy as it was simply separated from room by a glass partition - all sounds and sites could be experienced by other(s) in the room.

+ The service of the hotel is very good. They really took care of me & my girlfriend. The location of the hotel is very good, in museumplein, just behind the Vondelpark and 10 min to Central Station with tram (No:2).

- They have smoking and non-smoking room. You should inform them about it. But, there is no warning about to inform them. The double bed is not actual double bed, it is two twin beds, so the middle of the bed is not so comfortable.

- Horrible sound outside - on back side of hotel (ventilator?), front desk personnel not very hospitable, no mini bar or fridge in room, coffee in lobby too expensive, bed was 2 twins put together - not king bed.

+ The room we were in (328) was a corner room and large. The King Size bed was very comfortable. There was also a single bed, separated from the king by the bathroom and capacious closet space (a short "hall", for want of a better word, between the areas). The bedside lamps provided good reading light (versus other places we stayed in Europe. The bathroom has a large tub /shower. We were there two nights -- the first night, it was quiet (April 28th). The second night was the night before Queens Day so it was, naturally, noisy, most likely not the usual situation. The hotel backs up the the Vondelpark, which we did not avail ourselves of because we were visiting our daughter who lives at the border of Oud West and the Centrum -- but we walked through it two evenings.

- It is a bit far from the Centrum but the #2 tram goes right through the Leidseplein on its way to the Central Station. Walking, that plein is about 20 minutes away and the museums and concertgebau are likely 10 minutes away. If coming to the hotel by tram, tell the conductor you want to get off at Emmastraat -- we told him Konniginneweg and though his English was excellent, he didn't know what I meant, possibly because I pronounced it close to the way it would be pronunced in German. One drawback, which I meant to tell the desk, is that the room was missing one dark drape (the track was there for it) so the sun shone right into the bed at 6:00 a.m. on April 29th.

+ My wife and I were satisfied with all the facilities at the Park Plaza but especially so with the quality of the breakfasts (these were the only meals we had in the hotel). If we were to return to Amsterdam in the future, we would have no hesitation in staying here again.

+ Lovely, clean and stylish hotel. Because it is not in the centre, this smart hotel is excellent value for money, but it is also convenient - the tram into the centre is just a short walk away, and it's a very pleasant 12 minute stroll to the main museums.

- We had a nice big double bed - but not a nice big double duvet. Why two single duvets? But that's my only quibble.

+ the room we got was very nice and modern, but it was after having to change it from a grotty 3rd floor level which hadnt been made up form the last guests.

- We didnt feel there was a great customer service at the hotel. We rang up for extra pillows, 3 times and i went to the front desk as well. Over an hour later they turns up with one pillow saying it was the only spare one they had! Ridiculous in that kinda of hotel. The price of the breakfast was ridiculous, so we left every morning early to avoid that extra charge!

+ Located near to Vondel Park with a nice walk to the centre.

- 3 night stay - 3 different rooms. The first room was meant to be a superior room but it was small, the bathroom awful and we were located next to the lift and so no sleep. We asked to be moved at 8am the following morning. We were told to pack our luggage which we did and we would be moved. When we arrived back at the hotel at around 5pm we were told there was no room to move us to (I cannot beleive there were no departures at all that day). Five minutes after returning to our room we were offered another room - only to discover after we had moved a really strong smell of smoke - interesting as the hotel is a smoke free zone and has this notice on the entrace doors. We asked to move again the following morning. We packed again and on return later that afternoon we had been moved to a more pleasant room. In our opinion the superior rooms which we paid for (no discount offered related to the inconveniences) were of a lesser standard than the standard rooms. The hotel needs to ensure the reception team communicate between each other and also deliver consistent customer service. Some were good and some were very poor. Breakfast - needs a better table clearing system, food replenishment system with more people working. Overall a poor experience and we will not be returning there or recommending the hotel to others. We visit Amsterdam at least once yearly as we have family there.
