Hotel Koningsherberg is located in the middle of the wonderful nature reserve Strubben-Kniphortbos: the only archeological reserve in the Netherlands. This area is known for its many ancient burial sites called hunebedden (dolmen). You can also find the remains of a prehistoric road, connecting Groningen and Coevorden. A stay in this rustic inn is a magnificent starting point for those wishing to explore this exceptional environment.
At the Koningsherberg you can book single and double rooms. The single rooms have a bathroom with a toilet and a shower. The double rooms have a bathroom with a toilet, shower and bath.
The inn also has a conference room for meetings. You can enjoy a nice drink on the outdoor terrace/café, in a quiet environment with a great view.
Please note: It is possible to check-in until 18:00. You'll need to contact the hotel in advance if you wish to check-in later.
Food and Drinks
Guests can enjoy a breakfast buffet every morning.
The restaurant is open for lunch from 12:00, and you can go there for dinner in the evenings. The restaurant has a Dutch menu. Orders can be placed until 19:00. The restaurant is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday (except for during holiday periods).

- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Guests can check-in from 14:00 - 18:00. If you wish to check-in earlier or later, please contact the hotel in advance.
- Pets are allowed at an additional fee of €5, on the condition that owners bring their own basket. It is not allowed to leave pets unattended in the hotel room.
Surroundings
In 2000, Anloo's surroundings were declared to be the first archeological reserve in the Netherlands. This area is rich in trees, and you will find many heaths, prehistoric monuments like the dolmen, burial mounds and old cart tracks. A walk or bike ride is a great way to encounter all these spectacles and much more. Here, you can explore both the countryside and the city.
