Description

Banks is located in the very heart of Antwerp. The Nationalestraat is just around the corner, with the Momu fashion museum and lots of international fashion designer shops. The hotel is also close to the Vrijdagmarkt, where market stalls are set up each Friday. Antwerp has a lively character with its theatres, galeries and good restaurants and it is therefore a perfect choice for a city trip.

The pure materials that were used in the modern interior give it a warm atmosphere. All rooms have a private shower and toilet and some rooms have a balcony and air conditioning. For a bite and a drink you can visit the Daytime Café.

Food and Drinks

The breakfast is served from 07:00 to 10:00 h. on weekdays and from 08:30 to 11:30 h. on the weekend.
The Daytime Café on the ground floor of the hotel offers a conversation pit and fireplace, a patio and terrace. It is open daily between 07:00 and 20:00 h. for everything from breakfast to tapas and all that goes in between. At the Daytime Café, guests can enjoy complimentary drinks (after check-in) and bites (daily from 16:00 h.). On sunny days the rooftop terrace is a perfect spot to enjoy the weather.

In the hotel guests can make free use of internet. Wireless internet is available on the ground floor and there is cable internet in the rooms.

Surroundings

Antwerp is a fun shopping city and it also offers many cultural sights. Banks is not only close to the boutiques of the Nationalestraat, but it is also near the Grand Bazar Shopping Center and the renowned shopping street Meir. Around the Groenplaats there is an abundance of entertainment venues.

JGM Verhagen All you need!: 7 May 2011; 6.8; + Location, design- very basic with great bed. Good breakfast.; - Only minus is that the floor in the room was not clean. Why do cleaners never care for corners? Bed and towels were clean. Sink and toilet were clean. But floor (and little corners around bath) was bad.

Acceptable only for one night stays.

Anonymous Lovely hotel great location: 24 November 2008; 9.8; + loved the location so close to everything also the breakfast you served was excellent your reception staff very helpfull and pleasant i will recommend your hotel to friends as i really enjoyed our stay; - the shower in our room flooded the floor as the water came out under the door . perhaps you could inform your clients to be carefull when using it for the first time. also when we came back one night and used the night door there were no lights on in the stair well and we had to use them in the dark which was not good

Burel Ideally located, friendly, helpful, modern and functional:a real tip: 16 November 2008; 9.0; + It was not the first time we used Banks. Location, service and price/quality, functionality, and flair/atmosphere in the reception and breakfast areas we valued most. In an emergency situation we asked on a Sunday afternoon for a vary late arrival that very day and were immediately offered to pick up the key at a very near location. That functionned perfectly and the hotel manager the next day at breakfast checked right away about it, and was as usual very helpful and genuinely friendly giving precise directions on how to get to the place we had to be urgently in town.; - None for the quality one can expect for prices charged for an exceptionally convenient location at the very center of town.

Nice breakfast.; - The reception was unmanned from 20.00 on the Friday we arrived - this was not clear on the website (we were called on the day before but this was rather late to know). There was no list in the room of who to phone if you had an emergency - I would have been anxious if on my own in an unmanned building. They do need another coffee machine at breakfast!!

We had to move rooms after the first night as our shower leaked into the bedroom but the staff very very apologetic and nice with it. Think there's a few teething problems still as it's so new but I certainly would still recommend it.

Wij vonden het mooi. Toplocatie, midden in centrum en P garage om de hoek voor 16,- per dag. Ontbijt super. Kortom een goed verblijf voor een weekendje Antwerpen.; - Kamers wat gehorig, hangt af van welke kamer je krijgt. Kamers zijn minimalistisch (onafgewerkt betonnen plafond) en daar moet je van houden. TV ontvangst slecht.. Het gehele hotel voelt een beetje krap/ klein aan. Deurvangers gaan overal heel zwaar, een deur openen gaa overal heel zwaar.

In het daytime cafe staat een lekkere loungebank en een aantal tafels en stoelen, waar genoten kan worden van de gratis hapjes en drankjes rond borreltijd. Al met al is dit zeer goed verzorgd.; - De kamer was zeer minimalistisch. Persoonlijk miste ik bijvoorbeeld een kast voor mijn kleren en ruimte in de badkamer voor mijn toiletspullen. Hier had iets meer aandacht aan besteed kunnen worden.

Ik had een duurdere kamer geboekt, maar die bleek net zo klein als de standaardkamer, die ik een jaar geleden boekte. Jammer - Mijn man is 87 en die kleine ruimte (vooral de badkamer) maakte het verblijf wat gecompliceerd.
