The stunning white building, which houses the Hampshire Hotel O - Kathedral is located on the pleasant Handschoenmarkt (Gloves Market), and was designed by the well-known Antwerp architect, Jo Peeters. The notion of 'classic design' has also been carried through into the hotel: visible, for example, in the magnificent painted ceilings. These were created after the murals of Viktor Lagye present in the wedding room at the Stadhuis (City Hall). Antwerp's City Hall is located on the Grote Markt and is registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The hotel rooms at Hampshire Hotel O - Kathedral are spacious, luxurious and come with an excellent bathroom as well as bedding fit for a prince. The interior is entirely in keeping with the rest of the hotel, as the ceiling and walls are also covered with gorgeous murals. Besides a wonderful night's sleep, you can also enjoy a good breakfast in the atmospheric breakfast area. In the evening, you can dine at the hotel's restaurant. The hotel has a nice bar with friendly and hospitable staff who are happy to be of service. Outside on the Grote Markt are also many lovely places where you can enjoy a bite to eat or have a nice drink.

Surroundings
Hampshire Hotel O - Kathedral is situated on the Handschoenmarkt, a place where market stalls used to sell gloves in the 16th century. Also located here, is the well created by Quentin Matsys. Dating from 1490, it now serves as a wishing well. The blacksmith responsible for forging the well later became an incredibly famous artist, whose paintings now hang in the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten (Royal Museum of Fine Arts). A visit to Antwerp's cathedral is of course not to be missed, although it's rather difficult to choose from the vast number of cultural attractions that Antwerp has to offer. The 'diamond city' has great shopping areas such as the Meir, the Stadsfeestzaal and the Lange Koepoortstraat. You can take a lovely walk past the busy river Scheldt or perhaps through Antwerp's expansive Stadspark (City Park).
