Arcen lies in an area that is rich in trees, and is close to national park 'De Maasduinen', a long stretch of sandy hills. The nature area offers a wide variety of heaths, shifting-sands, and woods, with many bike tracks and footpaths. Arcen is known as an atmospheric tourist town with many small cafés and terraces on the beautiful central square. The town harbours a centuries old country estate with a monumental castle and beautiful gardens.
Guests can pay an enchanting visit to the 'Rosarium', where no less than 20.000 roses delight the admiring visitors. The 500 species of roses are divided up over 10 gardens that surround beautiful barique ponds. At a distance of approximately 2 kilometres from the hotel you can also find the thermal bath Arcen, which has three open-air baths, an indoor bath with thermal mineral water, sauna facilities, and a brasserie.
Hotel de Maasparel is close to the centre of Arcen. The 'Maas' river streams past this friendly town, which gives it an idyllic character. In the atmospheric restaurant De Maasparel the staff serve seasonal dishes are centred around asparagus in spring and by mushrooms and game meat in autumn and winter. In addition, desserts, bonbons, and patisserie fill in another prominent position in the kitchen of Restaurant De Maasparel. Besides a plethora of sweetness guests also taste the staff's fondness for their trade. The restaurant is open daily from 17:00 to 21:00 h.
