Herbergh Hotel Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

• – Outside my room,204, the hotel staff came out on a regular, frequent basis and had their smoke and talked. The smoke was drawn through the window into my room,which is non smoking. I was not impressed.

• + The breakfast was absolutely the most amazing breakfast I have ever seen. It was wonderful!
• – It was odd not to have a shower curtain. You have to be careful not to spill water on the floor.
• * my tip The address was a little confusing for our cab driver. Just make sure to be very clear when getting in the taxi that it is right next to the airport and not in Amsterdam proper.

A good clean place to stay near Schiphol Airport

• + This hotel was clean and comfortable with a nice restaurant. I liked the staff very much. Rooms were fine...nothing fancy here but comfortable.
• – Since it was winter, walking to the shuttle bus which came to a nearby hotel, wasn't easy. I asked a hotel employee to drive me to the shuttle the next morning, which he kindly did. The hotel is so far from central Amsterdam, that it is a hassle to get there.

Hotel with a real Dutch feel.

• + Location was great. Small but very Dutch Hotel with good restaurants,.At least you felt like you were in Holland. Good service and helpful staff.
• – No lift, steep stairs. Carpet in the room was scruffy.
• * my tip Good restaurants with excellent food. Both restaurants situated in the hotel.

• – The walk from Novotel in the dark with a heavy bag in an unfamiliar area. Not pleasant for a lone female. I wanted to change the starter on the 29,50 menu. Would have made no difference to chef, but I was refused. (I am a chef!!) Hot choices with breakfast were cold, I was the first person down at 7,50am. Ended up paying 14,50 for a bowl of cereal!! I told the uninterested receptionist..no apology or offer to get me fresh food, no offer of a discount either. Duly noted for TripAdvisor.

Perfect little hotel near Schiphol

• + Beautiful, new, clean and small hotel. Great price through hotels.nl Perfect for getting a night's rest after arriving/leaving from Schiphol.
• * my tip The hotel's website has the shuttle schedule and directions, which were wrong on hotels.nl: At Schiphol, catch the big main shuttle that serves both the Ibis and Novotel and get out at Novotel. Walk back from the direction the shuttle came for 2-3 minutes to the Herbergh hotel. Don't let the walk turn you off though! It's trivial and the hotel is entirely worth it. Time to/from Schiphol is 15-20 mins. Call the hotel if you'll be checking in later in the day/evening.

Clean and Cosy Hotel, Very good stay.

• + The hotel was very easy to find, no need for a taxi I just used the free shuttle bus I was there in about 20mins. I was suprised just how clean and presentable the hotel was. There was a lots of attention to detail e.g my room had small christmas tree with lights and they used a well known brand name for the shower gel and hand soap and ... lets not forget the side table sweets. For the price I paid I expected a lot less. The lounge was full of tourist info for Amsterdam, if you have the time...
• – The only draw back to my short trip was when I arrived it was very late (after midnight) and the reception a hotel door was closed (even though i did called to say I will be arriving after the 11pm). However there was a notice on the main door saying to ring the below number to collect your room key..... all good and well if you have coverage. Which I did not. Luckily I managed to find someone who kindly help me out with a call.

Lovely hotel with great food

• + We enjoyed our stay but had difficulty finding the bus & the stop on the route. In fact, after finding the bus, we ended up going around twice as the driver didn't point out the location. Once there, we were delighted and enjoyed a lovely meal in La Bouche. It was great until just after 4 am, the fire alarm went off. Interrupted our sleep somewhat. Then a lovely breakfast in the morning awaited. Thank you; overall we enjoyed our visit.

• * my tip Suggest a room off the main road; it can be noisy.

Hotel close to Schipol

• + Shuttle service is punctual, it is a short walk from the drop off point to the hotel. Breakfast was nice and included in our price.
• – Short walk from shuttle to hotel. In the rain it feels longer!
• * my tip Steep stairs from ground floor to rooms. No elevator. Could be a problem for person with physical problems or really heavy liggage.

Clean, comfortable, friendly and convenient

• + Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff who were always happy to help with any requests/queries. Ideally placed for Schiphol airport, with a regular free shuttle bus. Lovely meal in the Italian restaurant, with attentive staff. We booked for 2 nights only, but would be happy to use it for a longer stay. Would definitely recommend.
• * my tip The shuttle bus pick up/drop off point is at the Novetel Hotel across the road - only a 2 mins walk away.

• + Great with a free shuttle bus, large rooms with armchair and coffee table.

Nicely appointed

• + This hotel is really well maintained and has a nice feel to it. Also the food is good if a bit spendy. There is both a French and Italian kitchen and both serve good tasting, attractively prepared food. Also, I thought the bed quite comfortable, the bath nicely appointed. But be careful about the hot water as it is really hot.
• – There is no elevator and the stairs are quite steep. Also, there is no air conditioning, which can make your sleeping problematic. Also, there is a several minute walk from the shuttle stop to the hotel.

Convenient hotel near the airport

• + I appreciate the ability to prepare hot water in the room.
• – The front desk should be opened at least by 6am. When I called/phoned the front desk, I could hardly hear the receptionist because of very loud noise. The carpet marks/dirt were very visible.
• * my tip I recommend giving the guests a list of nearby restaurants along with the general information such as kind of food each serves, distance from the hotel, and rating. Requesting the shuttle service to make the hotel as one of its stops would be a plus.

• + Convenient to Schipol Airport, very nice restaurants on site, lovely walking in the area.

A very beautiful landscape, excellent breakfast, comfortable hotel

• + The hotelhas a very nice morning breakfast which is included in the reservation price. I think this is very important and it makes this hotel special. It is also quiet, clean. The hotel team is kind and helpful. It is located near airport and there is a shuttle between airport and a hotel which is a few minutes away, at a walking distance. There is a very nice neighbourhood that has a nice food and general market. There is a bank near this market in case you need it. These are the plus point
• – The hotel is not located inside the Amsterdam city. This should be kept in mind however, I think people who are willing to make touristic visit to Amsterdam city can arrange a plan by using the train schedule more efficiently than I do. This hotel is a nice place to stay in Amsterdam if you are familiar with trains and metro around this city.
• * my tip I recommend this hotel to other guests.
