The Etap Hotel Amsterdam Airport lies at a 7-minute distance from Schiphol Airport and 8 kilometres from Amsterdam. The free shuttle bus service takes you to the airport two or three times per hour. The shuttle bus to and from the airport is daily available between 04:35 and 01:25 h. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but in the adjacent Ibis Hotel there are three restaurants where you can enjoy a meal or a drink. In the Etap Hotel there is a wireless internet connection and it offers parking facilities at an additional charge.

The Etap Hotel has 200 standard and modernly decorated rooms. In the rooms there are a double bed and a single raised bed. The rooms have a private shower and toilet and a flatscreen television with free movie channel.

I was able to get to it from the airport and back.; - I felt like a chicken in a chicken coop. No phone. No shampoo. Transport to airport was like a cattle train. Service was bare minimum. Everything was bare minimum.

Gavin Kerr Potentially good hotel bad outcome: 21 October 2011; 6.6; + Generally clean well managed hotel with friendly staff and regular shuttle close to Amsterdam airport; - Room 162 had what looked like dried blood pooling on carpet under bed and spatters on wall, and in shower. If I had not been so tired on arrival I would have asked for room change. Other major problem was that Television in my room was for some reason on UK time zone rather than Euro and I used that time to leave for my flight to US arriving in airport with an hour to go to flight and not being allowed to board. I had to buy a new flight for 930 Euro fly through Iceland and get in 9 hours late. Not happy at all.

We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return there again.; - It was a little difficult to find as the confirmtaion letter did not contain the name of the town and the satnav didn't recognise either Amsterdam or Schipol, I would have liked to be able to dry my hair, but that is only a minor point as now I know there are no hairdriers in the rooms or hot air hand driers in he toilets, another time I would take my own drier.

The cost was reasonable for Europe, but you could learn something from American hotel chains. I can get a room in America for about twenty euros a night. There is a market for such things.; - The lady at the desk for very rude. When I walked into the lobby, we were the only couple there. I was not greeted with a pleasant welcome and asked the customary what-can-we-do-for-you question. Instead another man walked up and was forceful and got service. Then we were pushed aside from looking at a map and told to go to another locations at the counter. Then a second group stepped up and was helped. Finally another lady finished her tasked, registered us and didn't tell us where to go until we asked.

We waren met 3 volwassenen en één kind op kamer (bij ons in bed). Voor één overnachting helemaal goed. Veel fijner dan midden in de nacht met een taxi naar Schiphol. Leuk voor de kinderen. Vlakbij een McDonals met uitzicht op vliegveld en speeltoestel.
