Strandhotel Nassau-Bergen has a turbulent history. In WWII it had to be demolished by the occupying forces. In 1953 the hotel was rebuilt completely, after which it also went through various renovations. The hotel is made up of several buildings with a limestone colour and red roofs. The hotel fits wonderfully into the surrounding of dunes, beaches, and sea. In the enclosed hotel garden there is a heated outdoor pool with a large terrace. Between the end of May and the beginning of September (sometimes longer, weather permitting) hotel guests can use this facility for free.
The hotel has comfortable rooms with (on request) a fantastic view of the sea or the surrounding dunes. All rooms have a bath and/or shower and a toilet, as well as cable television, an electronic safe, and a telephone. Also, the rooms are equipped with a radio alarm clock and a hair dryer. In 2006 and 2007 all rooms were renovated. Most rooms have a balcony or an outside terrace. Since the hotel is so close to the sea, this is a perfect hotel for those who love the beach. Guests can get a sun tan or go swimming on sunny days, or enjoy a nice long walk on the beach on a windy day.

The artistic village of Bergen is well worth visiting because of its many art galleries, good restaurants, and cafés.
