The atmospheric Fletcher Hotel de Zalm dates from 1928. It is beautifully situated in the centre of Brielle. The attractive market town has nice terraces, canals, boutiques and cosy restaurants. The three star hotel offers comfortable rooms, an excellent à la carte restaurant and cosy pub lunches. The hotel is popular for its location, also with business travellers. The hotel was a bicycle shed and bikes can be rented.
You can experience the rich and eventful history of the beautiful fortified town of Brielle when you stroll along hundreds of ancient buildings and walls. The fortress of Brielle dates largely from the 17th century and is one of the best preserved fortifications in the Netherlands. Brielle was previously called Den Briel and that name will be known to every Dutchman. On April 1, 1572 the city was captured by the Sea Beggars. The Iron Duke, Alva, underestimated the intake of Brielle which eventually led to the revolt of the Netherlands against the Spanish Empire under Philip II.

Brielle lies on the island Voorne, in the recreation area Brielse Maas. In half an hour's drive away is Rotterdam, you can visit its Rotterdam Zoo, the impressive Boijmans van Beuningen museum. You can also admire the beautiful modern architecture, cruise through the immense ports or just go shopping. Near Fletcher Hotel de Zalm are some enjoyable cycling and walking paths through the dunes and polders. Certainly worth a visit is Deltapark Neeltje Jans and find out more about the famous Dutch Delta Works.

The breakfast buffet is available from Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 10:00 h. and on Saturday and Sunday from 07:00 h.
The hotel offers a stylish à la carte gourmet restaurant The Crowned Salmon with renowned French cuisine. The kitchen is open from 17:30 to 20:30 h. Hotel De Zalm also features a cosy lunch cafe that offers a wide choice. The pleasant hotel bar is open from 08:00 to 01:00 h.
