Description

Montanus Hotel Brugge is located in a quiet street in the heart of Bruges, near the Markt and within walking distance of attractions such as the Halletoren, de Minnewater and the Begijnhof. The listed town house was built in 1849 and has a classicistic façade and a porte-cochère. The Montanus Hotel is popularly known as 'the old house Van Acker', because the house was formerly owned by the mayor of Bruges. Beside the hotel is the church O.L.V.-van de Zeven Weeën and within a 100 metres you will find a street with many lace and chocolate shops.

If you stay in this 4-star hotel, it seems time has stood still. In the garden you can catch your breath after a visit to the bustling city of Bruges. There is a terrace where you can enjoy a full breakfast, weather permitting, and where you can simmer down between the flowering apple trees and enjoy pure tranquility. Next to the hotel there is a private parking lot. The hotel lies at a 15 minute walk from the train station.

Food and Drinks

During the week and on Saturday, breakfast is served from 07:00 until 10:00 h. and on Sunday until 11:00 h. The hotel bar is open from 11:00 until midnight. Beside the reception lies the white 17th-century salon Frank Van Acker. This is an ideal place to have a drink or to read the newspaper. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but the owners own a restaurant, Restaurant Den Heerd, in the nearby white village of Damme at less than 10 kilometers from the hotel. Near the hotel are also plenty of cosy restaurants.

In the hotel guests can use wireless internet at an additional charge.

Reviews

Mark Conway Beautiful hotel, ideally situated.
8.4
+ Beautiful room, and a very tranquil hotel.
- The hotel was excellent, but my request that noisy plumbing be fixed wasn't dealt with. I had to ask again the following day before anything was done.
Jeroen Goed hotel
8.4
Anonymous Goede service, onverzorgde kamers
5.8
+ Zeer goede service, rustig gelegen.
