Description
In the historic heart of the village Brummen lies Hotel Het Oude Postkantoor Brummen, near the village square. They've managed to transform the former post office into a very pleasant place to stay. The mailbox area is now the entrance of the building and via the former loading bay you'll reach to the large courtyard of the hotel. In the great hall, where the postmen used to work, you can now have breakfast and at times even attend a classical concert.
The hotel rooms are located in the former canteen, mailroom, switchboard room and waiting room. Each room is furnished contemporarily, while they managed to preserve most of the authentic elements, such as the beautiful high ceilings and for instance the slate floor in the old waiting room. Furthermore, the rooms have good box-spring beds, a private shower, toilet and double washbasins. There is also a television in every room and some rooms have a private terrace.
Food and Drinks
The former postmen room is now being used as breakfast room. Everything was restored to its original state as much as possible, resulting in magnificent solid wooden floors and beautiful high ceilings. The design is modern and beautiful natural colors were used. There's a comprehensive breakfast buffet with a choice of several types of fresh bread. It's served in this beautiful breakfast room each morning between 08:30 and 10:00h. In the same room, guests can have coffee or a drink or just relax with a newspaper. Regularly, classical concerts are organized here as well. In Zutphen, 6 kilometers from the hotel and in Doesburg, 8 kilometers away, several excellent restaurants and entertainment venues can be found.

- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. Guests can check in between 17:00 and 18:00 h. If you would like to check in at another time, you need to notify the hotel by telephone.
- An additional bed can be placed in the room on request for €45 a night.

Brummen lies in the heart of the province Gelderland, between nature reserve Veluwe and the river IJssel. It's a varied landscape, great for cycling and walking. With a small ferry you can cross the river to the smallest city in the Netherlands, Bronkhorst. Brummen is distinguished by its beautiful country and town houses.
