When you stay in the Chelton Hotel Brussels you certainly go for a walk in the famous Parc du Cinquantenaire nearby. This park was created in 1880 by Leopold II to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Belgian independence. Check out the symbolic triumphal arch and the eight statues in the park. The colonnade on either side of the arch leads to other attractions such as the Museum of the Royal Army and Military History, Autoworld and the Royal Museums for Art and History. Also interesting is the Bread House on the Market, among other things it shows the wardrobe of iManneken Pis, more than 500 pieces in total, the first one dates from 1698.

A simple, budget accomodation quite close to the center of Brussels

Relatively close to the center. Simple, but the price/quality ratio is OK.

Also in non-smoking areas the smell of smoke is detectable. The place is pretty worn-out; every carpet should have been renewed about 5 years ago. It is quite clean however.
