You can easily cycle to villages such as Nes and Buren, and visit the shops, restaurants and terraces. The lighthouse of Hollum can be reached via the cycling track that runs past the Strandhotel. The hotel is perfectly located if you wish to explore the beautiful nature of Ameland.
The modern, comfortable rooms are all equipped with two box-spring beds, an LCD television with a DVD player and a luxurious bathroom with massage shower. The decoration of the rooms copies the atmosphere of the island. All rooms feature a balcony or patio.
Guests can use the sauna, Turkish steambath and the solarium at a special rate. These amenities are available on the opening hours of the reception; please make reservations in advance. Guests of the Strandhotel have free access to swimming pool De Golfslag at recreation park Klein Vaarwater (700m. from the hotel), which offers an indoor 25-metre bath, a water playing area with a pool for toddlers and a large water slide.
Food and Drinks
Breakfast is served each morning from 08:30 to 10:30 h.
Beach pavillion de Heksenhoed close to the hotel is a fun place to sit down with a cup of hot chocolate, an ice cream or a lovely lunch after a walk on the beach.
In the villages of Nes and Buren you will find lively terraces and restaurants.

Surroundings
After a 2-minute stroll you reach the North Sea beach. It is also fun to rent a bicycle for a trip to nature reserve Het Oerd on the east side of Ameland, where you can spot birds from one of the observation posts. At 1 kilometre from the hotel lies the village of Buren, which offers a supermarket and restaurants. A wider variety of shops and entertainment venues can be found 3 kilometres away, in the village of Nes.
