- A nice place to stay but has some drawbacks
- If you are looking for out of the way places to rest in the seclusion of the forest and wooded areas this is a nice place.You will find serinity here. Everyone bikes all around and the bike paths are amazing and fantastic. It is 1.5 miles from the train station and 4 miles from a town that has a market and a few wonderful restaurants. All driving to these places is easy and BEAUTIFUL. It is far away from the city life and the drive to town is beautiful. We needed to leave every day in the morning before the breakfast area was open, so the staff made breakfast baskets for each of us that was very tastey and complete. Nice of them to do that for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly and they all spoke english. There were many problems and they went out of their way to try and fix what ever they could.
- There was limited parking and you had to park away from hotel and that was hard when you had luggage to bring in. Their food was expensive so you had to drive to the next town to get meals cheaper. But you can get to that market 4 miles away in Oosterbek. For the rooms-They tried to give us a room with a sewer problem and it smelled and the rug had a water stain on it from problems. But we declined and they gave us another room which was acceptable. There is no air conditioning but that is typical of Europe. You could open the windows but there were no screens so bugs could fly in. We did arrive at 9 a.m. and hoped that the room may be available. But it was not. So they said to com back at 2p.m. when they published rooms would be ready. The rooms were not ready at 2 p.m. and they said to wait 20 minutes. That came and went several times. So we had to wait until 3:30 to get in our rooms. We explained we only had one hour to get washed up and ready for a special banquet we had to go to. And that didn't move things along at all. Be prepared for a late arrival to get into your room to avoid that. Many of our friends had the same problem. We brought our dog. There wasn't really any place to take the dog to eliminate quickly. In the morning I had to take her out to this small strip of grass 6 inches wide on a road way across the street. That was it. Yes they have lovely grounds and place for the dogs to run but not easy to get to at all. And not easy to get the dog to when they have to go to the bathroom fast. My dog had to learn to go on the concrete, which she doesn't do.

- The staff were friendly and helpful, a very helpful girl at reception even found me a cell phone charger, when I lost mine. Breakfast is excellent, as are the dinners and snacks.

- The staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and unpressurised. If we return to Oosterbeek we would certainly stay again.
- On the Sunday evening our room was a little bit cold although we acknowledge that the weather generally had turned very cold the day previously. To be honest we wondered if the heating had been reduced because the hotel was much emptier after the Sunday when most people had left.

- The staff care is excellent at all times, There is a welcoming and restfull atmosphere in the hotel and the neighbourhood as well as in the nearby Palace and its surrounding forest. A nice suprise is the small but pleasant pool on the top floor. The Restaurant adapts meals to your requests and the food of the season - this personalisation is not cheap but we though the price was justified and some dishes were superb. The selection of accompanying wines were good but not as exceptional as some of the food.
- There are no tea and coffee faciities in the standard rooms. Breakfast was very adequate but it was not a particular high spot - maybe more seeds, muesli and fruit would lift it.

- A great romantic getaway but not worth a tourists time.
- The food at the restaurant was absolutely awesome. Do eat both dinner and breakfast here. It is worth the time and money. At dinner the chef came out and explained the 4 course meal. The atmosphere was wonderful and the wait staff friendly. The room we stayed in had a wonderful view over the pond with ducks & a swan. There was a beautiful walking trail and a small museum adjacent (all in Dutch).
- The main building was built around 1300's (I think) but the rooms were built in the last century. It was more of a chateau than a castle. We came by train which was a little difficult since Tegelen is not on a main line (but not bad). It was about a 20 min walk from the train station but there were lots of signs pointing the way. We saw no taxis. The hotel did order us a taxi to return to the train station (about $12 - E8). Overall it was something nice to do once but I do not see ourselves doing it again or even recomending it to other just visiting Europe. It was not worth the little bit of time we had in the area. If you live in the area and want a nice romatic getaway I would recommend it.

- Parking is a problem as you are well aware of. I gave service a 5, simply because breakfast on the Friday we left was terrible. We arrived for breakfast at about 08.55. There were no eggs, no buns, no croissants, hardly any bread. Almost all meats, including salmon were gone`. There was only some cheese and a few slices of sausage. The coffee pot was empty and it took about 25 minutes before anyone showed up with coffee. Ironically they came and replenished all the missing items at about 10.00, when we were leaving and there was nobody else around anymore. For the rest our stay was wonderfull.
