+ Sehr gute zentrale Lage mit besten Verbindungen ans Verkehrsnetz. Freundliches Personal.

- Die Renovierungsarbeiten während unseren Aufenthalt waren grösser als angekündigt. Der Pool ist und soll laut Aussage vom Personal ausser Betrieb bleiben. Fitnessangebot wurde durch durch einen Fitnessclub ersetzt. Nicht angenehm das Hotel für Fitness wieder verlassen zu müssen. Diese Einschränkungen wurden nicht im Voraus angekündigt. Der Pool und Fitness waren ein Grund um uns für das Crown Plaza zu entscheiden. Unser Club Zimmer lag im alten Teil des Hotels und das angekündigte besondere Design glänzt hier durch Abwesenheit. Unser Aufenthalt war ziemlich enttäuschend.

+ Die zentrale Lage ist wohl mit Abstand das Beste an diesem Hotel.

- Obwohl freundlich ist die Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals doch begrenzt. Die Badezimmer sind klein und nicht sehr 4-Sterne mässig (Toilettenpapier ist Bahnhoftoiletten Niveau und die ganze Einrichtung sieht alt und nicht gepflegt aus).

+ Staff - all excellent. Both efficient and friendly. We stayed in room 124, lack of view was of no importance to us given the short stay. Rooms spacious and clean, housekeeping good . Bathroom a tad small but sufficient for purpose.

- Only one and this has been mentioned by numerous visitors - free Wi-Fi should be available. Even the most humble of establishments in Amsterdam City have free Wi-Fi available to customers.

+ Netjes verzorgd hotel. Goede ligging in hartje Amsterdam. Nette kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Nette service. Leuke lounge.

- Prijs/kwaliteit onder de maat. Ontbijt belachelijk duur. Bed in tweepersoonskamer had maar één matras met erg 'enthousiaste' vering. Ramen konden niet open. Uitzicht nogal triest.

+ - Perfect gelegen op loopafstand van Centraal Station. - We konden al om 13.00 inchecken - Op de laatste dag konden we tassen achterlaten om ze na een dagje Amsterdam weer op te halen. Fijn dat je dan niet de hele dag met je tas hoeft te lopen.

- Wij hadden een clubkamer. Op de foto's zag deze er toch wat luxer uit dan in het echt, vooral de badkamer was erg klein. Ook werd ons de clublounge (oid) niet goed gewezen, waar we gratis drankjes en hapjes zouden aantreffen. We kwamen er pas bij het ontbijt achter waar deze zat verstopt. Ontbijt in de clublounge was wat karig.

+ Perfecte ligging, prima service personeel, die onderling heeel goed en prettig met elkaar omgaan. Een ontbijt die fabuleus is.Ondanks dat wij heel vroeg incheckte was dit geen probleem en hadden we direct beschikking over een kamer en de clublounge.

- Ik kan maar een minpunt bedenken maar die is zo verschrikkelijk dat ik hierdoor nooit meer terug kom in het hotel zolang dat niet veranderd is: het gaat om de mechanische ventilatie die maakt zoveel kabaal dat ik er niet van heb kunnen slapen. Zelf watten of kussen konden het geluid niet buiten sluiten. Ik vond dat echt ontzettend erg. We hadden het gemeld en er is iemand van de technische dienst geweest die zei dat het geluid na 6 min. geen of veel minder zou zijn helaas ondanks alle inspanning klopte het niet. Het geluid klonk voor mij oorverdovend en amper 2 uur slapen is voor mij veel te weinig. Heeeeeel erg jammer anders had ik het hotel een dikke tien gegeven en het zo weer geboekt hebben.

+ The location is superb and the staff was very helpful, friendly, and helpful of our needs. The concierge is a great person who helped with train tickets and places to eat.

- The bar closed to early. The cost of the drinks was a little above average.

+ This is about the 4th we have stayed at the hotel and every visit has been delightful... except this last one.

- As we have a loyalty card we asked if we could keep the room untill approximately 14h00, and of course this was not a problem... The hotel was under refurbishment at this time and we was not informed of this at the time of booking... It started about 08h00 annoying little banging noises which throughout the morning got louder and louder AND LOUDER... by lunch time me and my partner had to shout to have a conversation it was horendous... if we had known about the refurbishment we would not have chosen to stay there on this visit... Surely a hotel of that size could put guests on one side of the hotel and work on the other side and vis versa... but no work was being carried out rite over the top of our heads and was such a terrible experience... This was mentioned at reception when checking out ( earlier than we would have liked, we both had splitting head ache), we mentioned some kind of compensation or even waive the £40 bar bill, but we were declined... absolutely nothing was offered, not even a snak or a free drink in the bar... in the past we rated the hotel 110% in everything... but this time minus 110%... a £100 a nite hotel with drilling, banging, sawing and goodness knows what other tools were being used, going on rite above us... NO THANK YOU...

- Price / quality, we paid a special offer and we expected a better quality hotel. The rooms do not have a hair dryer, the covers were with cigarretts spots, poor quality rooms comparing to price. We had to wait until 15.00 to get in the room as upon arrival was not cleaned yet

+ The hotel is in a very good location,all usual tourist attractions are in walking distance,very close to the station,good food and drink places all on the doorstep,and sits in a very central,yet,very peaceful side of town.Pool and leisure facilities are good and the hotel bar has a great view over the main shopping street,great for people watching.

- We chose the Crowne Plaza on reputation but the stay was dissapointing due to 3 terrible rooms, got dumped on the 1st floor,all 3 rooms were below standard for what I considered to be a quality marqe,all 3 rooms needed a little t.l.c. All 6 guests agree that the rooms left a bad taste on the stay.

+ We had a lovely stay in the heart of Amsterdam. We had a very pleasant service from the hotel staff. The breakfast buffet was lovely, sending thoughts to our frequent travels to the US. When we return to Amsterdam, Crowne Plaza will be our choise of Hotel.

- There was often the smell of pot being smoked in the hotel rooms on the floor we visited. This is not ok, when travelling with a child. Even though I am a smoker myself, I restricted my smoking to the smoking areas in the lobby.

- Room type/size. Room occupation was geared up as single/double, but size was quite small for double. Minor details like one cup and one bathrobe.

+ the location is fantastic, the service was second to none. I feel I want to mention the staff in the restaraunt for breakfast on a morning, 1st class. Would definitely recomend the hotel. We also requested 4 rooms together and this happened, never happened before.

+ I travel to Amsterdam frequently for work and have stayed in various hotels. The Crown Plaza was in a great location, easy to get to everywhere. The service was wonderful and the room was very comfortable. The wireless internet connection was expensive, but since I was working it was nice to have.

+ The club rooms are a bargain -- the price may be higher but it nevertheless is a good bargain. Try it.

- A 3 PM check in is very harsh for International Travellers as many flights do land at Schipol in the mornings. People also tend to check out early and therefore a standard non check in should be possible.

+ The staff were excellent, the best we have encountered, all most helpful and pleasant.

- The bathroom was in need of updating. The toilet was badly stained. The room was comfortable but not of the same excellent standard of other club rooms we have stayed in other Crowne Plaza hotels eg. Glasgow. We were awoken by the telphone at 1.00am to be asked if we had ordered food. The food had been ordered and delivered and eaten several hours previously !

+ Ik was blij dat het ontbijtbuffet liep tot 11u00 wie de avond ervoor een uitstapje wil doen kan nog altijd rekening op een heerlijk ontbijt..fijn toch. Alles wat ons hartje begeerde was in de kamer aanwezig, we hadden dan ook een zeer aangename kamer.

- Ik vind het spijtig dat bij de sauna geen jacuzzi hoorde en het zwembad iets te klein was.

- Would not consider it to be 5* as advertised. Bathroom condition poor. Upgraded to club room but had to ask for mini-bar to be replenished. Lack of toiletries - one of everything but two people staying in room!
