Das Dikker en Thijs Hotel Amsterdam ist in einem stattlichen, historischen Grachtengebäude ansässig. Ein prächtiger Standort, bei der Prinsengracht und der Leidsestraat um die Ecke. Diese Toplage ermöglicht es Ihnen beinahe alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuss zu erreichen.

Nur 150m von dem Leidseplein entfernt, wo viele Cafés und Restaurants anzutreffen sind, in der Nähe der Einkaufsstrassen und der mehr dan 70 Kunst- und Antiquitätengeschäften, die sich im “Spiegelkwartier" befinden und in Gehweite der berühmten Museen. Eine bessere

Der Meisterkoch H. Thijs und der Unternehmer A.W. Dikker eröffneten im Jahre 1915 ein Geschäft an der Kalverstraat und zogen 1921 um zu dem stattlichen Eckgebäude an der Leidsestraat/Prinsengracht. Hier wurden sie durch den Verkauf von Kaviar, Krebsen und Austern berühmt. Später wurde das Geschäft zum Hotel, das es noch heutzutage ist, ausgebaut. Im Jahre 2001 wurde das historische Gebäude komplett renoviert und in den alten Stand zurückversetzt. Dieses Hotel strahlt noch den Glanz vergangener Zeiten aus.

Abgesehen von der hervorragenden Lage verfügt das Dikker en Thijs Fenice Hotel über jeden nur erdenklichen Komfort, den man von einem 4-Sterne Hotel erwarten kann. Alle Zimmer sind mit einer gut gefüllten Minibar und einer Internetverbindung ausgestattet. Einige Zimmer haben auch eine Klimaanlage. Zudem haben die meisten Zimmern einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf die Grachten und die Stadt. Sauna

Das Hotel war einfachzu finden. Die Lage war absolut Spitze.

Leider hat das Hotel keine Klimaanlage. Selbst bei offenem Fenster hatten wir um die 27C im Raum. Das parken des Autos war leider teurer als das Hotel für eine Person. 45 Euro pro Tag.

Gute Wahl für Stadtbesichtigung

Gutes Bett, angenehmes Zimmer, sauberes Bad. Touristisch genau im Herzen der Stadt gelegen. Eine gute Wahl. Großer Hund kein Problem!!

Das kleine Frühstück war sehr karg, mi minderwertigen Produkten auch das große Frühstück für 12,50 €.

Es macht sich für ein Viersterne-Hotel nicht sonderlich gut, wenn die Receptionistin Fastfood-essend die Hotelgäste empfängt bzw. bedient.

Nach einem nächtlichen Leck von oben wurden wir bestens bedient, kleines Geschenk, Preisnachlaß, etc. und natürlich ein neues Zimmer. Wir fühlten uns sehr gut aufgehoben. // Die Lage ist fantastisch.

Einiges ist etwas alt oder abgenutzt. Zunächst war der Empfang nicht soooo freundlich; erst nach dem Nachtproblem (siehe oben) waren alle Hotelpersonen sehr freundlich.

Overall very good & we'd come back again.

The hotel was clean & well maintained. We didn't have the hotel-breakfast because the hotel was well located & there were plenty of other places to eat. Also really easy to get to by public transport and well placed to walk to other places as well as being near a chemist. The night reception person was very friendly & extremely helpful. The room we had was big & they added an extra bed for our little person. Beds were comfortable, clean & the room was well equipped - We even had a kettle. Overall the place was worth the money (considering it was Amsterdam)and we'd come back again.

Pretty much all good but 2 points lost were on service & comfort: 1.The rooms facing the street were a little noisy (from the trams & late-night revellers) - double glazing wouldn't have hurt. No good if you're a light sleeper. 2. The morning receptionist wasn't at all nice and she preceeded to argue with a hotel guest over the phone.

Great hotel on a noisy location

Very big, and very comfortable room. The bed was really good. Also an excellent location to do the touristy things of Amsterdam. Not hat expensive, and very friendly staff.

The hotel is on a busy street and apart from the noise of trams, you do get a free concert of the Amsterdam Pub Closure Choir thrown in.

Great location and value. Noisy location. Highly recommended.

The hotel is in a fantastic location on the corner of beautiful Prinsengracht and Leidsestraat, just steps to lively Leidseplein, Kerkstraat, and Spui. There is a tram stop right outside. The room was huge with comfy beds and linens. There is a secure luggage storage room and courtesy umbrellas to borrow. Nice bath with a long deep soaking tub and handheld shower. Nice touch.

The fabulous location is tempered by the fact that is on a very busy, lively, and loud street. My suggestion is to bring earplugs. I did and it worked great. We didn't partake in the breakfast because it was too expensive. We bought meat, cheese, and bread from the Albert Heijn and enjoyed breakfast on our balcony. Many quick and tasty eats right outside the door.

Grand Rooms, Good location

Rooms were exceptionally spacious for Europe, well priced and light with large windows that could be opened for fresh air. Also, right on tram route. Easy access to central station.

Hotel is on a corner, rooms facing a canal on one side and a busy street on the other. If you get a room on the busy street side, it is very noisy at night and revellers will keep making noise until 4am.

Highly recommended - would visit again!

Polite and helpful staff. Most of the attractions are within walking distance. Our room was spacy, quiet, perfectly clean, with a large, comfy bed. It was nicely decorated in nuances of cream, burgundy and brown. Our room had a very large window, of almost 3 x 3 metres, with a view of the canal!

Great city location, tough place to deal with having a car

Great location for those who want to easy access to Amsterdam. The street car runs right past the hotel. The main shopping streets run right past the hotel. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance, including a town square just one block away. There is a pastry shop across the street for those wanting a quick and inexpensive breakfast (this worked out great for us, since we could just pick up some pastries for our son). The staff is helpful. The room is very clean and comfortable. Excellent bathroom.

Very tough parking situation. There is a garage about one block away; the cost is 45 euro's per 24-hours period. It is a leave your keys deal and access to your car thereafter is limited. When arriving at the hotel, there is an unloading space in-front of the hotel that you can use. Some guests just pulled up on the sidewalk to unload. The streets are busy and driving to this hotel should only be attempted by those who can handle city driving. Please be very careful to avoid hitting bikes, pedestrians and the rail car that is right at the hotel.

A beautiful, comfortable hotel in a bustling part of the city

Location was fantastic for trams and for places to eat in the evenings (literally a 2 minute walk). Beautiful canal view from the room, the staff were very friendly and the room was always clean. Really enjoyed my stay there.

No air conditioning, which I really was expecting from a 4 star hotel. Very hot at night and we were given quite thick duvets in the summer, which was odd. I can't comment on breakfast as it was too expensive so I usually got something on the run.

Heerlijk hotel met perfecte ligging

Erg aardige mensen en een mooie grote kamer. Wat ook opviel was dat de geluidsisolatie super was. We hoorde bijna niets van buiten komen en het was beneden behoorlijk druk. En ook lekkere dikke gordijnen.

- an extremele spacious and clean room and bathroom: great value for one's money (we paid about 85 euros for the room) - perfect location for visiting Amsterdam: walking distance to Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum, to the flower market, trams taking one to the central station in 10-15 minutes (although we walked that distance) - very calm: could hear nothing from the street or the neighboring room - good breakfast (12€50): we only needed a small pancake or sandwich at lunch time - have already recommended the hotel to several friends and will certainly stay there myself next time I go to Amsterdam

A brilliant, large clean hotel with nice staff and breakfast

Everything about the hotel was great, we can't understand why there were negative comments. The room, 503, was huge, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff and breakfast were excellent. As good a four star hotel as any we have stayed in and probably the nicest four star we've been in in Amsterdam - granted it hasn't got a pool but everything else you would want from a hotel of this grade in a traditional, non-sterile hotel was here.

Excellent to spend a dream weekend in the heart of Amsterdam.

Fantastic location, standards up to the ratings, very nice rooms. If you get the suite at the 5th floor, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Amsterdam. Imagine that by night...on the terrace with a good glass of wine in a hand...

My bed cover was dirty...(just asked for another one). Elevator is a bit strange. Parking is not available from the hotel. Only private parking lot is 200m away, but it is horribly expensive (40 euro per day). You can park near the Vondelpark, in Kaiserstraat, for 13,20 euros per day, then walk to the hotel, for about 2 km.

All night street party on the first night - Not much sleep. When I finally received my account in Australian Dollars I was quite shocked. Very Very expensive. On my next trip to Amsterdam I will be looking for something a lot more economical. although the location was great, it was not worth the price.

Very attractive location. Next to the tram lines and many quieter but nice bars, but easy to find your way to dam square. Definately the smarter part of the city, a nice area for an evening stroll.

The room was good, and the location and view over Prinsengracht was excellent. The staff were happy to help. Our dry cleaning was not ready before we left for home, and this got sent over to us which was excellent service. I would recommend staying here if you have a few pennies to spare.

We had made a request and this had not be adhered to until we had to point this out, despite booking months beforehand. However it was rectified and had an excellent view.
