Hotel de Lantaerne Amsterdam ist ein einfaches Hotel, das in Gehweite zum lebendigen Leidseplein liegt. Es ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt, um die vielen in der Nähe gelegenen Attraktionen, die schönen Grachten, weltberühmten Museen und geselligen Märkte und Viertel Amsterdams kennenzulernen.

Perfekt für junge Leute mit kleinem Budget.

Die Lage war perfekt. Direkt am Leidseplein konnte man alles zu Fuss erreichen. Preis/Leistung war für unsere Reisegruppe super.

Das Hotelzimmer liess bezüglich Komfort zu wünschen übrige. Die Betten ware etwas unbequem. Das Zimmer befand sich im "Keller", wir hatten kleine Fenster, was etwas ungemütlich war.

Hotel und Einrichtung sind ziemlich abgenutzt; Schimmel in der Dusche; kaputtes Licht wurde trotz Reklamation nicht repariert; Geschirr und Besteck nicht immer sauber; Frühstück (zum Teller mit zwei Scheiben Wurst; einer Scheibe Käse, Margarine/Butter und Marmelade/Schokocreme darf man sich drei Scheiben Toast und ein Ei sowie Kaffee/Tee und Saft nehmen) deckt Kalorienbedarf, mehr aber auch nicht Personal zum Teil unfreundlich; Ohrstöpsel wegen Disko in der Nachbarschaft zu empfehlen; Fenster kaputt; Zimmer wurde trotz dreier Übernachtungen nicht gereinigt, schmutzige Handtücher nicht gewechselt

Badezimmer katastrophal, Wasser läuft durch den Boden und schwarze Schimmelflecken und feuchter Fussboden. Betten katastrophal! Fenster in einem Raum nicht zu öffnen und keine Nachttische und Nachttischlampen. Farbe fällt von den Wänden !

not bad, but not good

close to some places with a lot of entertainments

the stair is in sharp slope, it is difficult to go up especially with a lot of stuffs and bags. Male customer services were good, helpful and friendly, the female ones, chinese likely, were not keen to help and not friendly as well.

Well located but poorly maintained hotel

Excellent location. Breakfast OK, some vegetables would have been nice. Free tea/ coffee all day.

Extremely dirty bedspread, mouldy shower and bathroom. Very small room (double bed fills in the whole room) with thin walls. Breakfast lounge is too small for that many people.

Ligging

De kamer in het algemeen, klein, viezig. We zaten in de kelder. Overal vieze haren, purschuim uit de muren, klein raam waar je niet doorheen kon kijken. Vies dekentje op het bed. Slecht matras, scheuren in het laken. Dus ja niet veel goeds. Terwijl ik normaal niet echt een klager ben, zat ik hier samen met mn vriendin niet echt op mijn gemak

Try somewhere else

Had 4 walls and a bed, plus shower.

A certain memeber of reception staff wasn't very welcoming. The breakfast was literally just bread and spreads, it wouldn't even fill a hamster up. And there was bit's of dirt in the corners of the room. Not worth the price they ask for.

Nice location, but don't expect more.

This hotel location is very convenient, close to many interesting places, along a nice canal.

The service is poor : we were welcomed by asking us to pay the room right away, without even having a look at it. The room was very small, with a window that would have broken if we dared to touch it. The breakfast was very cheap: the tables are not cleaned up, the flies turned around ham and cheese. Eventually, no hello, nore good bye while leaving. This hotel doesn't deserve its 2 stars (1 star is far enough). We went once to an Amsterdam's 2 stars hotel a lot nicer than this one (Damstraat).

hotel was ok but a hostel would have been way better fun

The people working at reception were very friendly and helpful. Around the corner there is great nightlife yet the hotel is peaceful.

The rooms are old and not well kept.One of our beds was broken and the shower was disgusting when we got there. The room was also uncomfortably warm due to the heat outside.

Great Hotel will use it again.

Our room had a little balcony that had a canal view. The TV had english chanels. Cozy. Free breakfast.

The canal view from the balcony was a dead end canal. The door to the balcony had a broken window that had been fixed with a piece of metal.

If price is your primary concern...

Price drew me to this hotel. I lowered my expectations and was pleasantly surprised. It is definitely a budget hotel, though. Sheets were clean. Top covers were not so clean. Bathroom was clean. Carpet was not clean. For the price, well worth it.

The hotel is located in relatively quiet district, yet close to the city center. Walking distance is 15 minutes.

Lantaerne is budget hotel, perfect for the young, for a short stay.

Kind and helpful staff, very cheap for this great location, including a basic continental breakfast, ensuite bathroom.

The room itself was a little dirty.

Two star hotel? I don't think so unless the rating in the Netherlands are way lower that the rest of mainland Europe. I think this is a hostel and not a hotel and there is even a certificate in the dining area for best hostel for 2006 to state this. This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed in and can not recommend to anyone. The rooms weren't clean, and the bed was awful, dirty blanket so did not even want to use this, dirty floor. There are holes in the walls and also in the doors and the window latches are broken. The carpets are disgustingly dirty as are the walls. The shower curtain is rotting and the shower walls and floor are black from mould and age. The shower drained onto the floor which made the entire bathroom soaking wet for the whole day. The bathroom shelf are broken so can not be used. The breakfast was very poor and we decided to buy it elsewhere. This is the worst hotel I have ever been to and if all hotels were not fully booked we would have gone somewhere else. The room and hotel needs a renovation, not just a good cleaning. It is a very low quality hotel (if not a hostel) so the price per room is too high. It provided hostel facilities for hotel prices. The hotel was filthy, run down and disgusting, over priced and does not deserve even a single star rating.

No elevator in the hotel, maybe is typicaly hotel in Amsterdam?!?! and no toilette paper in the WC but it's not big problem.

Mediocre

Good location. Strategic point. Tasty breakfast. Well mannered employee.

The room was dirty. I'm allergic to powder and I was in trouble on the breathing apparatus. Too many steps(no apprise about it). No changing towels.

A pleasant, clean, economic hotel right off Leidseplein

The personnel are very friendly, and the hotel is very clean. The room is small but comfortable and clean - no smoke smell or really worn fixtures like in other Amsterdam budget hotels. Also every room has a private WC and shower, no roaming the hallway with your towel.

Just Ok place if you dont expect too much!

Location was good!Service was ok..

Rooms were cold and dirty..exspecially the carpet was quite dirty..and the bathroom! Breakfast was quite small and poor, nothging special..every morning the same white bred and cheese or ham..no vegetables!
