Ierodiaconou Demetris Hotel was ok but we did not feel welcome.

+ The room was very nice, clean and the size of room was ok. We also had air-conditioning. Zimmer war sehr schön, sauber und geräumig. Klimaanlage war vorhanden.

- The service at the reception was very bad, we also had problems with our breakfast, which we already had paid but the reception made a mistake. After we complained and shown our reservation, the problem was solved. The personel was a bit impolite. Das Service an der Rezeption war enttäuschend, wir hatten Probleme mit unserem Frühstück. Das Frühstück war für den gesamten Aufenthalt inklusive aber durch einen Fehler der Rezeption, haben die es angerechnet. Nachdem wir uns beschwert haben und die Reservierung in Detail selber erläutert haben, war das Problem gelöst.

+ Super Schnäppchen für 4 Tage! Würde das Gresham Memphis wieder buchen. Empfehlenswert für Leute, die etwas abseits vom Trubel ruhe Suchen.

+ Sehr freundliches Personal!

- Das Frühstücksbuffet war unserer Meinung nach für ein Hotel dieser Preiskategorie ungenügend. Sehr geringe Fleischauswahl und das warme Buffett entsprach nicht dem uns gewohnten.

- Straatlawaai, badkamer out-dated, stank in lobby, ontvangst kil en futloos. De vier sterren van dit hotel zijn niet terecht.

- Behulpzaamheid van onthaalbalie niet onverdeeld positief: sommigen moeten aangemoedigd worden eer ze bijkomende info willen opzoeken van activiteiten in Amsterdam. Ontbijt is niet speciaal gezien de prijs die ervoor wordt gevraagd.

+ Goed gelegen, mooie kamers, veel parkeerplaats, vriendelijk personeel.

- -Men zou op voorhand kunnen vermelden dat er een toeristenparkeerkaart kan gekocht worden aan de balie want wij hadden bijna 36 euro in de automaat gestoken terwijl jullie dit verkopen. -De dame aan de balie met donker lang haar mag wel wat vlotter en verstandiger werken, zij is zeer enerverend en komt dom over.

+ The location is excellent and the staff were extremelly helpful.

- Even with special discount and upgrade the room seemed a bit overpriced. The size of the room is very small. The safe box was not working. We found some litter and dust behind the desks and the standard of higiene in the shower and toilets was very low.

+ Very good location in a quiet and posh area. Very friendly staff and clean room with good facilities.

- Renovation was in progress when we stayed. Was quiet over the weekend, but we were woken up on Monday morning with the sound of the construction crew taking off the scaffolding.

+ This hotel is well located, a nice area not far from museum area and other attactions. Good places to eat within a short walk of hotel. Residential area with nice cafes and shops frequented by locals, quite an affluent area !

- Building work in progress during our stay. We were woken at 7.30 by hammering outside. No bar or gym facilities either. We made a complaint and by way of compensation were upgraded to junior suites on next floor which certainly improved matters ! Breadfast rather pricey at twenty euros each

+ The management of the Memphis is extremely helpful with recommendations and offers of help around the city. the hotel is easy 5 minute walk to the Van Gogh and Rijks museums as well as the concert hall and chic shopping street. It is directly on the tram line.

- The hotel was undergoing renovation. While the room was fine, the fire alarm (set off by hot shower?) was disturbing early evening and the construction was visible. Once that is finished in a month or two, they say, it should improve. Suggest the bagel place (2 blocks up and left) near the concernt hall for breakfast rather than the rather expensive hotel continental breakfast.

+ Staff were very helpful in relocating us to a room that 'was not as bad' in smelling of paint. Very good value Breakfast.

+ Really quiet place, calm and relaxing. Tram stop to Central Station close by. Only 10 minutes by feet from the museums.

- A bit far from the city center, canals and animation. Necessity to use the tram or bus to come back late after a tiring day.

+ good location for our purpose (Concertgebouw).

- unbelievable small room, not for two people. When entering the hotel we had to wait 10-15 minutes at reception desk due to the phone call (private?) the girl was making in the back room. No excuse when she showed up finally.Most unpersonal welcome in every respect.

+ Excellent location, very confortable and very polite staff.

- The single negative point I can mention is that I tried to use the Internet at the business center and there were virus in the computer, that tried to infect my pen drive!!! Fortunately my antivirus avoided the risk. With some simple procedures the hotel can avoid or reduce this problem.

+ The room was very stylish .A fair size comfortable.It offered Great facilities. Staff were friendly.The hotel bar, resturant facilities were pleasant and inviting. I shall definitely return.

- When i arrived at around 12.30pm .I had to wait till 2.00pm for the room to be ready.I realise this is usual practice, but would prefer my room to be ready on arrival, as most guests would, After travelling.It seems a bit unfair to make people wait 1.5 hours, especially when you want to freshen up.Better systems could be put in place to reduce waiting times, at least giving priority to new guests.

+ The room had exellent facilities. I was impressed with the airconditioning and much welcomed ,given the hot whether.Overall very comfortable,stylish hotel.I'd certainly return again.

- It's a shame that breakfast cannot be included in the price.On that note the rooms are comfortable,but in distinction to other 4 Star hotels in amsterdam, quite expensive .The staff were friendly, but i felt perhaps a little formal in their approach to dealing with customers.

- de bevesteging van de reservering werdt niet gevonden.Ik kreeg toen een klein dakkamertje voor ¤ 245,00. Ik had geresereerd een eenpersons kamer voor ¤ 245,00. Ik zal nooit terug gaan naar dit hotel!
