Groenplaats
The Groenplaats (or green square) is a square in the centre of Antwerp. Around the square are several cafes and terraces and in the middle of the square stands a statue of the famous Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens. Near the square are the famous Cathedral of Our Lady and the Grand Place.
Many facades around the Groenplaats are protected monuments. Around the square is also a tiny museum, called the Museum Frietkot. It is just one large room that is dedicated to the famous Flemish fries. The Grand Bazar Shopping Center is close to the square.
