Vleeshuis (Meat House) Museum
Since the thirteenth century the Vleeshuis (Meat House) has been at its present location at the Vleeshouwerstraat in the centre of Antwerp. The beautiful early 16th century building was a slaughterhouse and meat market for over three centuries.
The house with its high towers and walls was built in red brick and white sandstone. The Gothic interior is home to the Museum Sound of the City, where 500 years of Antwerp music history is shown.
