Town Hall Antwerp
Antwerp's Town Hall is located on the Grand Place. The magnificent town hall was built between 1561 and 1564 and is widely regarded as a culmination of the Renaissance in the Netherlands.
In the central part of the building, which looks Baroque, the arms of the Duke of Brabant, the Spanish King Philip II and the Margrave of Antwerp are displayed. The Council Room is where the city council's meetings are held and the Leys Room is where guests are received. The Wedding Room has some beautiful murals by Viktor Lagye and in the Walking Room you can admire the dress that Queen Astrid wore on the day of her inauguration in 1935. Guided tours of the Town Hall are available.
