Belfry of Bruges
The Belfry (belfort) of Bruges with its octagonal bell tower soars high above the Market. Together with the towers of the Church of Our Lady and the St. Salvator's cathedral, the belfry has been determing the skyline of Bruges for centuries.
The Belfort is 83 meters high and leans over a bit. Those willing to climb all 366 steps to the top of the tower, will be rewarded with a magnificent view over the city. In the bell tower is a famous carillon with 47 clocks, which is still in use. The Belfort of Bruges is on the World Heritage List of UNESCO. In the past, various products were traded in the halls under the tower.
