Lace Centre Bruges
The Bruges tradition of lace weaving is kept alive in the 'Kantcentrum'. This lace centre in Bruges is housed in a number of restored 15th-century almshouses next to the Jerusalem Church.
It was founded in the last century with the purpose of continuing the lace making school, which was started by the sisters at the beginning of the eighteenth century. In the Kantcentrum is a permanent exhibition of various types of lace and a shop. There are also are lacemaking demonstrations in the centre of Bruges. The demonstrations will take place throughout the year. But only in the afternoon from 14.00 to 17.00 hours
