Manneken Pis
Near the Grand Place of Brussels you will find one of the city's biggest tourist attractions. 'Big' does not refer to its size, because the statue of Manneken Pis is only 58 centimetres high. There are several legends behind this statue. One story mentions a little boy that extinguished a large fire by urinating on it, which saved the city.
Many visitors like to take their picture with the bronze chap. It is important that Manneken Pis looks good in these pictures, so he is regularly fitted with new clothes. His wardrobe consists of no less than 700 clothing items, among which are an Elvis Presley costume and several soccer shirts. The wardrobe is on display at the Museum van de Stad Brussel on the Grand Place.
