The Flemish Art Collection
The 'Vlaamse Kunstcollectie', or The Flemish Art Collection is the cooperative of three art-historical museums in Flanders: The Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, the Groeningemuseum Bruges and the Museum of Fine Arts in Gent.
Together, these museums offer a great overall picture of the art in the southern Netherlands and Belgium from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. In their collections are for instance top pieces by James Ensor, Jan Van Eyck, Peter Paul Rubens, Antoon Van Dyck and Hans Memling. Partly thanks to the knowledge and networks of the art historians connected to these museums, wonderful exhibitions are organized around a theme regularly, such as the Flemish Primitives, Memling or Rubens.
