Open Air Museum Ellert en Brammert in Schoonoord
"I am in a beautiful country, Drenthe", is what Vincent van Gogh wrote to his brother Theo in 1883. This Dutch province still breathes an atmosphere of years, perhaps even ages gone by. Visitors to the Ellert en Brammert Open Air Museum in Schoonoord will see megalithic and prehistoric tombs that have been wonderfully conserved and as a result will haul you back in time. This museum certainly revives south-east Drenthe's rich past.
