Utrechtse Heuvelrug
The Utrechtse Heuvelrug region extends from the Gooi to the Grebbeberg in Rhenen. It is an attractive area with hills, valleys, parks, beautiful scenery, gorgeous villas, country houses and castles. Attractive restaurants, cafés and pancake houses are spread around the area, where you can enjoy lunch or dinner after a walk or bicycle ride. One of the bigger towns in the area is Zeist, with a wonderfully located manor-house and many nice shops.
The area between the towns Driebergen and Rhenen is a national park and offers superb walking and cycling routes on estates as well as through woodlands and fields. There are over 50 different routes that you can try, ranging in length from 2 to 20 kilometres.

In the woods near Leersum are burial mounds from the Bronze Age, while Amerongen boasts a beautiful castle. The well situated town Rhenen is also known for its great zoo Ouwehand.
