Veluwe
The Veluwe region is the largest continuous nature area in the Netherlands, embracing woods and heaths. It is a great walking area for enjoying hours of spaciousness and tranquility. In the National Park De Hoge Veluwe you can explore the park on one of the many free white bicycles available to visitors. The Kröller Müller museum is right in the middle of the park. The museum houses works by Van Gogh and also has a sculpture park. The National Park Veluwezoom is also an impressive nature area.
The beautiful countryside alone gives reason enough to visit the Veluwe region but it also offers much more. The landscape is dotted with historic towns, manors, castles and beautiful country estates. The Apenheul in Apeldoorn, the Open Air Museum and Burger's Zoo in Arnhem and the Dolfinarium in Harderwijk are highly recommended for children. The Veluwe has several recreational areas where you can swim or surf and there are plenty of golf courses for golfing enthusiasts.
