De Koog is a lively seaside resort in the west of Texel. The many restaurants, cafés and nightlife venues ensure a comfortable stay in the village. Texel has a beautifully diverse landscape comprising dunes, polders, heathlands, woods and sandy beaches. It is excellently suited to walking and cycling trips, and the island also enjoys a good appetite for golf.

During your stay you'll be able to unwind in the hotel's spa. Guests at Hotel Greenside Texel are able to make free use of the sauna and the Turkish steam bath. The sunbeds and the Hydro-Jet (a warm water massage) are available at an extra charge. Top up your tan on the sunbeds whilst listening to tunes on the radio, which also has an MP3 connection. In addition, the cabin has special light effects and an aromatherapy function. Have a nap or read your book on one of the reclining chairs in the spa area.

The incredibly spacious rooms measuring at least 34 m2 come with a desk, a telephone, wireless internet, a safe, a mini-bar, a toilet, a bath and/or shower and a balcony or a patio. All rooms feature a sitting area with a two seater sofa and an armchair. Hotel Greenside offers excellent facilities for organising meetings, seminars and business events. Surroundings

Hotel Greenside Texel lies in the pleasant seaside resort of De Koog, within walking distance of the beach and the shops. Texel's beautiful and varied landscape offers solace to walkers and cyclists. Whilst on holiday on this Frisian island it's fun to visit Ecomare, cycle through the dunes or spend a day on the beach. With miles and miles of sandy beaches, everyone's able to find a suitable spot; party animals as well as those seeking tranquillity.

Food and Drinks

An elaborate Texel breakfast is available between 08:00 and 10:30. Classic French cuisine is served in Restaurant Wambinge; although dishes are mainly prepared using local Texel produce. You can enjoy three to seven-course menus, or you can select a dish from the regularly updated seasonal menu. The restaurant is able to seat upto 80 persons. The kitchen is open Monday through Sunday from 18:00 until 21:00. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can also be taken on the outdoor terrace. The Grand Café is a lovely spot to enjoy a nice drink and a good chat, and is open Sunday through Thursday from 08:00 until 22:30; and on Friday and Saturday until 23:30. Take a seat at the beachcomber's table or in one of the comfortable armchairs and order a local Texel beer.

Excellent hotel on first trip to Texel
  • + Rooms exceptionally comfortable and spacious. The restaurant was excellent with great service including transaltion of the menu into English just for us ! Staff very friendly and accomodating. Good location for getting to the beach and dunes.

  • – Steps from the beach - means blocks from the beach. I had a non-smoking room with a balcony that was shared by people who were smoking and talking until 3am. It was the only window that could be opened in the room. It was like they were sitting on my bed talking and smoking - it was horrible. To make matters worse the hotel did nothing to resolve this situation as the front desk was closed. Even after several letters of complaint they did not offer me more than a "sorry". The 30 day cancellation policy is ridiculous as well. In the extreme heat - they did not even offer a fan. I would not ever recommend staying there to anyone!
