The holiday apartments De Buitenrand are perfect for those looking for friendly service in a peaceful location, but within easy reach of city life. The apartments have a living room with a television, DVD player and WiFi. In the fully-equipped kitchen is a gas cooker, oven and coffee machine. You can use the shared tumble dryer and washing machine, at an additional charge. The bedrooms have a traditional bedstead and the bathroom is modern. No additional fees apply for bed linen and cleaning after departure.
The village of De Kwakel lies close to Uithoorn. From De Buitenrand, it only takes a 10-minute drive to reach Aalsmeer, 20 minutes to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport and 30 minutes to Amsterdam, Leiden or the beach of Noordwijk aan Zee. Free parking is available for guests. After a busy day you can sit back and relax in the large garden with its outdoor terrace.
A vast area of lakes, the Westeinderplassen, lies only a few kilometres away from the apartments. This area is perfect for water sports, such as wind surfing, rowing, swimming and sailing. The lake boasts plenty of small islands, and you can moor at one of the marinas on the islands' shores.

Famous museums worth visiting are the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (The Dutch National Museum of Antiquities) in the charming university town of Leiden and the Cobra Museum of Modern Art in Amstelveen. If you're an early bird you can also visit one of the largest flower auctions in the world in nearby Aalsmeer.
