+ I really cannot fault my short overnight stay at Hotel La Ville, which was perfect for me. Only 4 stops on the tram 17 from Den Haag train station, the hotel's location, bordering the Royal Palace gardens and close to a charming area of cafes, bars and shops. Special mention to Basil, Didi & the team for their lovely warm welcome and extra special service.
Anonymous Nice hospitality :)

+ 1. clean and fresh smelling bed/pillow linen with good cotton count. 2. friendly reception staff
- 1. Provision for soap and shampoo dish in douche area instead of laying these on the shower floor. 2. Availability of disposable slippers for guest/s would be added bonus.

+ Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast. And the bar beside the hotel is also nice. The room was clean.
- I stayed at a single room with shared bathroom. I don't know how the rest of hotel is, but this part has a really steep staircase. So thank god I'm healthy ang my luggage wasn't very heavy. The room is also small, but for me had the exact size I needed.
Anonymous Very good hotel!

+ good breakfast location
- our apartment was very old, the shower did not work properly (however, the staff contacted a plumper who fixed it) the dishes were not clean the furniture of the apartment was a little bit strange (there was a kitchen but hardly any possibility or a proper table to eat) beds were not confortable we found curly hair in the bathroom

+ excellent location good break fest friendly people
- thin walls; steep stairs (not a problem for me)
Anonymous Could do better
6.6
+ A warm welcome, clean bathroom and bedroom, comfortable bed and good breakfast. A very airy and light room.
- The room I stayed was on the street above the hotel's terrace, which means that it got noisy at night. The sound proofing is poor - you hear every footstep on the landing. The interior design is a clashing mix of high quality, tired furniture and bad taste.
Brahim Bah Nice hotel for short stay
7.8
+ Clean, calm, cozy...
- small stairs, no escalator, the rooms have a strict minimum
Anonymous Cheap hotel close to city centre
5.0
+ Nice breakfast buffet in a calm serving area included in price. Close to tram and walking distance from shopping/restaurant area.
- Poor isolation to other rooms, you can hear your neighbor watching TV.
Chris Avoid room No. 3B
4.4
+ The location is almost only 'plus point'. Sheets and towels were clean. Service was polite.
- It was probably the worst hotel I'v ever been. On the third floor (room 3B) leads an extremely steep staircase. Carrying suitcases even for young person is difficult. Room is old and ugly. On the walls and ceiling are visible traces of repeated flooding. There are some holes in walls. Kitchen looks unhygienically. In room and bathroom horribly stinks. The tap water is very slowly flowing. Noises from the street and smells from the restaurant are coming whole night. The hotel's restaurant does not look better than room.

+ The room had a kitchenette, and this was very handy (and unexpected). There was a very pleasant (and not very loud) pub next door.
- I had requested a smoking room but when we arrived was told there were no smoking rooms.

- dump/wet spots in corridors and room ceiling/walls

+ Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent.
- The photo on the website is EXTREMELY misleading. The photo showed a stylish and modern room with good facilities. The truth was nothing like it.

+ Excellent Breakfast; Friendly Staff; Location is very central and easy to reach; Spacious appartment
- Room on streetside can be quite loud at night.
Michelle
8.4
+ The rooms were large. Didn't feel claustrophobic like I usually do when staying in European hotels. I appreciated the free internet access.
- My room was over the bar/lounge area. The cigarette smoke did waft up into the room, which was unpleasant for someone who doesn't smoke.

+ the personnel was very friendly, the suite was very nice, very spacious and light with a good bathroom (heated tiles, bidet, luxury showerhed)
- the furniture had a few stains, that made you aware you were not the first guest.

+ Due to some mistake in their bookings system I could use a triple room for the price of a single room. The triple room is superb! The location of the hotel is definitely a plus.
- Single rooms have a shared bathroom! No lift, the stairs are very steep, 60º inclination angle!

6.8
+ cheap close to center
- room not very clean (but beds were clean) no tea or coffee

+ I got bumped from a room to an apartment, so I had a huge space; staff was nice and helpful; location was not bad: walking distance to central Hague and everything that was there; and the room was clean. All in all, though not fancy, very good value for money.
- The apartment had a bit of a "tired" look to it and could do with some refurbishment - carpets and furniture that are past their prime, shower head that could not be oriented properly etc.

+ Spacious apartment, kitchen facitilies available and working. Staff was helpful to take the luggage up the steep narrow stairs. The price is good for the great location.
- Smt was noisy with rennovations going on inside the hotel. The room could be better cleaned from hair left by previous guests in the shower cabin and the kitchen. Not all sockets worked, no electricity in the bedroom. The room was chilly - could be freezing in a colder weather. A rack or a towel hook would be a good addition near the shower cabin, as well as a shelf for shampoo, soap, etc. The whole apartment requires rennovation.

+ Received an appartment instead of a twin-room.
- I was not told I would be charged for using the TV but had to pay extra for that in the end. I did not feel like arguing over 6 EUROS but I find it unprofessional, stingy and deceitful.
Noelle Streeton
6.6
+ It was very clean and convenient.
- The room was up four flights of stairs in an attic and there were no curtains but strong street lights, which made for rather bright sleeping conditions.

- The only problem were the steep stairs.

+ The apt/room for 4 people was very large 2 rooms plus kitchen/bath.
- Upon checking out they day before departure the clerk put her finger to her lips and "shusshed" us. I have never had that happen to me at a place of business. "One moment please" or "pardon me for a moment" would have been appropriate. Heater struggled to keep the rooms warm.
