The centre of The Hague and the central station are well accessible from the hotel by public transport. The beach of Scheveningen lends itself perfectly for a walk and afterwards you can gain your breath in one of the cosy restaurants along the seafront promenade. In the nearby Frederik Hendriklaan you can go on a shopping spree in 125 unique shops.

Surroundings

Hotel Maurits is a perfect starting point to explore The Hague from. Enjoy a walk to the harbour of Scheveningen and on to the boulevard and the beach. The World Forum Convention Centre is also easy to reach, which offers musicals and conventions. Close to the WFC you can visit the Fotomuseum, Gemeentemuseum and the Museon.

Food and Drinks

Breakfast is daily served from 07:00 till 10:00 h. In the restaurant and the lounge you can order something from the small menu until 18:00 h. There is a reading table as well with newspapers and magazines. Scheveningen is recommended for a fun night out. Near the boulevard there are fun bars, restaurants and a casino.

  • – We travelled with 2x kids whereof one is 2 years old. So to stay on the top floor was less attractive. Bathroom facilities could have been set up differently. TV channels didn't work that well and would have liked to have an additional tv by the other bed.

  • + Was made welcome at the hotel even after checking in late due to flight delays. From what I had read about the hotel, the room met all expectations and met my needs exactly. A lovely hotel.
  • – Given the weather at the moment & the low temperatures, I would suggest turning the heating on earlier (around 16.00) so that the rooms in the late afternoon / early evenings are warmer. I would also suggest turning heating off earlier (23.00) as the room got very hot in the night. This may be more energy efficient too.

  • + Wonderful desk people who were very helpful regarding tram rules and tourist information. Great breakfast, too.
  • * my tip The location is much better than it looks on a map because of the tram connections. Ask the front desk the tram ticket rules, which are not obvious to an American. The fine for failure to have a valid tram ticket apparently could be 70 euros. The two questions I had were (1) tram tickets can be only used for a round trip ON THE SAME DAY, and (2) a ticket beyond the central zones is a separate class of tram ticket. Tram tickets are sold at the front desk.

  • + The hotel is sweet and quiet, in a lovely residential neighborhood. The young woman at the front desk was as charming and helpful as she could be. The free breakfast was very good.

Great Hotel And Will Definitely Come Again.
  • + Stayed at this hotel last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great rooms with coffee maker and kitchenette. Good breakfast, friendly staff and free parking ( important in the city ). Will definitely stay here again if prices remain reasonable and recommend it to my friends.
  • – Just one. Shower water was warm, not hot. Which can be coolish during the winter months.

  • + very good breakfast and very attentive staff, room clean and warm, bathroom modern and well stocked. Good value.
