Description

Landgoed Avegoor has a beautiful location near Arnhem and Zutphen. This country estate can be found in a woody area in the area De Veluwe, and belonged to the Dutch royal family from 1648 to 1800. Besides the beautiful surroundings, the hotel offers culinary delight in its three restaurants.

The building in which Landgoed Avegoor is located, was built in 1847 and is surrounded by the lovely nature of De Veluwe. Cities like Arnhem, Zutphen and Doesburg are not far away, as is national reserve De Hoge Veluwe, which also harbours the Kröller Müller Museum (modern art). The estate has a rustic character with beautiful bike and walking trails nearby, that will be appreciated by guests who like being active. The hotel also has bikes to let, to enable guests to thoroughly explore the green surroundings.

The comfortable lounge has a fireplace, where guests can quietly enjoy a newspaper and a nice drink or snack. In addition, the hotel's many facilities can provide further comfort and relaxation, like the sauna, the heated indoor pool, and the tennis court. Good food and good atmosphere and music in the Bistro Bar.; The bedroom blocks spoiled the quality of the hotel. Would not give the hotel 4 stars due to the lesser quality of the bedrooms. The bedroom and the beds were poor. Bedding/covers smelled. Not convinced that the bed covers had been cleaned recently.

The rooms are spacious and the hotel grounds are very welcoming. The hotel has an indoor pool open until late in the evening. Reception staff was very polite and efficient.; The rooms are fairly old. Hygiene standards were low - the room was not properly cleaned, spoilt milk was served at breakfast as was an old fruit salad. Overall, breakfast room staff and housekeeping were of a relatively poor standard, not worthy of a 4 star hotel.

Ik had een wellnessarrangement geboekt alleen hier werd bij check-in niet over gesproken, waar en hoelaat we er moesten zijn. Daarnaast bleek dat bij aankomst in Ryokan niet bekend was dat er een arrangement hadden geboekt met een behandeling.. erg jammer aangezien dit een verrassing was voor mijn partner. Zijn uiteindelijk nadat toch duidelijk was dat we wel het gehele arrangement hadden geboekt midden op de dag ergens tussengepropt.

Bediening in restaurant MAX zeer traag (wijnkaart moest nog uitgeprint worden, dus pas na 20 min eerste glas) en onvolledig (bij tournados werd niet gevraagd naar medium/wel done o.i.d.), prijzen belachelijk hoog. Veel kinderen in hotel aanwezig, die liepen te rennen over de gangen tot laat in de avond. Weerbericht in lift ging over de Waddenzee en het IJsselmeer (Ellecom ligt op de Veluwe). Ontbijtpakket was lunchpakket (als drinken alleen een blikje nep red bull ipv jus d'orange o.i.d.) en zeer karig (maar waarom zit er altijd wel een Mars bij?)Goed opletten bij het opmaken van de rekening van zowel het restaurant als de kamer.
