Linge Hotel Elst is a friendly hotel, which offers a pleasant and affordable accommodation for visitors of the Gelredome stadium, or the cities Arnhem and Nijmegen. Nature lovers will be able to venture upon a nice walk or bike ride through the nature area 'De Veluwe'. The hotel also rents bicycles and has a bike shed that can be closed off. In addition, it can accommodate (business) gatherings of up to 600 persons.

Elst is a medium-sized town in the Overbetuwe area, that has about 25.000 inhabitants. This area is known for its many fruit orchards, and is an attractive area for walking and biking. The area is particularly beautiful in spring, when all is in bloom, and in autumn, when it is harvest season. Linge Hotel Elst owes its name to the longest Dutch river, the 108 kilometres long Linge, which flows through the Overbetuwe county. The rivers 'Waal' and 'Rijn' with their characteristic views, are only a few kilometres away and can be reached by the various bicycle paths that lead to them. The village Elst is renowned for its many shops and annual horse market.

Surroundings

On the site of the present-day Elst there used to be two large Roman temples. The remains of these can still be seen at the foundations of the 'Grote Kerk' (church) in Elst. A special walk and bike route can take you to the important sites of the Roman-Batavian history. Linge is also a good starting point for a bike ride when the fruit trees are in bloom, or when it is harvest time. The area has many colourful pear, apple, and cherry orchards. In September and October the orchards will be filled with workers that are harvesting.

Food and Drinks

From Monday through Friday, the hotel sets up a breakfast buffet in the breakfast area, between 07:00 to 10:00 h. On weekends, the breakfast times are between 08:00 and 10:30 h. A packed lunch can be ordered for €6. The bordering Restaurant 'De Vereniging' is a good place to have lunch and dinner. A weekly changing 3-course dinner is served here.

A friendly and efficient family run hotel. Very nice.

Excellent staff, great restaurant for a budget hotel
  • + Would emphasise how friendly and helpful the staff were. The attached restaurant is first class and makes what would otherwise be a standard budget hotel a very pleasant experience. Nicely situated in an attactive and relaxed small town. Excellent as a base for visting the surrounding region.
  • – Only really a problem in very hot weather but there is no air conidtioning in the rooms. And you wont get a view from your room.

  • + I thought the hotel was just what i wanted.It was comfortable and quiet and i was fully relaxed after my stay.The room was very nice with a comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities.Also it was nice to have the tv to watch in the evening time with an option of a DVD player.So i liked my stay in this hotel.

More than acceptable hotel
  • + Very friendly hotel, Tea and coffee facilities in the rooms(!), DVD player, well located for travel to both Arnhem and Nijmegen. Price/Quality balance is very good. Handy for restaurants and local shops.
  • – Harsh matress protectors mean it's not as comfortable as it could be and the beds are a bit soft for my taste.

  • + Very close to the town and attached to nice restaurant. The staff were very helpful.
  • – Close to clock tower so a bit noisy at half-hour intervals! Breakfast bland and looked cheap.

  • + A delightful hotel in a quiet Dutch town..Room was very comfortable and the jacussi a special bonus.Food excellent and all of the staff very helpful,patient and kind.Special thanks to Melanie on reception for her help. The inclusion of free internet access was particularly good so my colleague could check his business emails.
