Van der Valk hotel Emmeloord is centrally located in the Netherlands. Cars can be parked at the hotel for free. From the hotel one can make nice day trips to the attractive villages Urk and Lemmer. By car the theme park 'Walibi World' and the nature area 'De Weerribben' are easy to reach as well.

Comfortable beds, a bathtub and separate shower, toilet, (pay) television, telephone and wireless Internet are available in the rooms. The hotel also offers several amenities for a moment of tranquility. Guests can for instance use the sauna, the Turkish steam bath and the solarium at an additional charge. On the deck chairs in the secluded Japanese garden, guests can quietly read a book. The reception staff will gladly give tourist tips. Surroundings

Hotel Van der Valk Emmeloord is surrounded by polders and far stretching farm land. In spring the bold colours of the tulip fields form a spectacular backdrop. From the hotel one can easily make trips to such places as Giethoorn, Urk and Schokland. A visit to 'Batavia Stad Shopping Outlet' and the wharf 'Bataviawerf' in Lelystad is also recommended.

Food and Drinks

The scent of coffee and fresh bread will entice the guests to the breakfast room. Where they can enjoy a buffet from 07:00 to 10:30 h. In the restaurant guests can have lunch and dinner. The kitchen is open until 23:00 h. The classic interior and the nice dishes ensure a pleasant get-together with family or friends. Children can choose something from the 'Timo Toekan' children's menu. The waiter can supply them with a colouring picture. From 17:00 h. one can visit the bar.

Nice...but could be SO much better.
  • + Stylish bedroom, large bathroom. Nice atmosphere in the Lobby/Bar area. Reception staff lovely and helpful.
  • – No tea/coffee faciltiies in room. Beds soft. No direct heating controls in the room (woken up by other guests - too hot - needed a drink - couldn't anything about anything at 3am in the morning!) Better lighting needed too...
  • * my tip Ask for a room at the back of the hotel and you'll wake up looking at cute little rabbits! And the cakes in the reception coffee bar are gorgeous...eat at least three.

  • – They can never get my name right - not even after this, the 6th or 7th visit in the last couple of years. Complaints from me at every stay and apologies from them at every stay. I have finally persuaded our head office (holding 16 small/medium companies) to stop recommending this group.

  • – It's dark everywhere. Are these hotels saving on electricity? It seems that the restaurant, bar and room are all fitted with the lowest powered light bulbs possible. Even with every light on in the room, it's still dim.

  • – The batteries in the remote were dead, the garbage can in the bathroom was broken, the toilet paper had 4 sections left on the roll when we arrived, and the light in the entranceway was wired badly and flickered on and off periodically.

  • + Quality price for room, quality of the restaurant,(food and service, except the "bearnaise" but I had my residence in Bearn for a few years...) welcoming present for child, welcome drink at the bar without any advertisement about this point, and free choice: amazing !!I've been working in hotel and restaurant industry for 24 years, and just have to give compliments about my short stay in your resort.
  • – Problem with a hole in the shower jet in the bath, waiting more than 10 minutes to find somebody at the bar at 11 pm.No mini bar..?? And to be perfectionist or professional... some moisture that you can see only when you are in the shower with closed doors !

  • + Great hotel with a very good restaurant. I did have problems with a beef that was almost raw, but they changed it quickly and erased it from the bill.
  • – Problems with the wireless internet. As a business traveller, it is very important to have full access to the internet when needed. I was forced to sit in the lobby in order to have a proper internet connection. Also the internet connection should be included in the room price!
