Uitstekend ontbijt!! Portie bitterballen is een klein feestje!

• + Uitstekend ontbijt!! "Gewoon" een portie bitterballen is een klein feestje om geserveerd te krijgen, mooi aangekleed met kraakverse entourage.

Comfortable and affordable.

• + We had booked 2 rooms. The one on the ground level offered a door opening to the garden, where we had our light snacks. With the big windows which offered ample light, the room felt bigger.
• – One of the books we booked was on the 3rd floor, which was dark and only offered a small window and no terrace or balcony.
• * my tip Request for one of the rooms on the ground floor with a door opening to the garden.

Hotel with potential, spacious room, but service has to improve.

• – Lack of experience with staff, affects the service. Water in bathrooms: hot/cold unstable. Cold or burning hot. Rooms should be cleaner in corners, shelves, bathroom. There is a constant pedantic scent in the bathroom. Not fresh. Restaurant is dirty as well. Every day the chairs had food on the seats. This hotel has more potential.

first class value

• + Service is always excellent, I travel to Holland about six times ayear and now Van der Valk Hotels are always the first I look for. Great value for money.

Business trip to Coevorden becoming like one day holiday....

• + friendly people serving at the reception and restaurant nice food
• – no towels available at the swimming pool, could be nice to inform in the room ( or I missed something) :-)

• + Excellent value for money. Breakfast buffet had a large variety and selection.
• * my tip Larger selection of bar snacks/meals, rather than having to sit down in the restaurant.

• + Large room and bathroom. Plenty of hanging and storage space. Safe large enough to take iPad.
• – Our room was a very long way away from reception and with 3 pieces of luggage that was difficult for senior travelers. The 'free' wi fi signal was so weak that it made receiving or sending emails impossible.
• * my tip If you are older, unfit or disabled, request a room close to reception.

nice hotel , good location , improvement need in the breakfast buffet

• + nice and big room , easy access by car.
• – the breakfast buffet is very poor . not A lot of food to choice. and if you dont come early things that end are not refreshing.
• * my tip at summer ask for room with air conditioning

Lovely hotel, but the staff in the restaurant lets it down!

• + Nice rooms, fantastic bathrooms (in the Deluxe rooms), lovely spa and wellness area. The surroundings make for very nice walks (both we and the dog love Hunebeds!). The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Parking is free and secure, but a car is needed at this hotel as it is in the middle of nowhere - literally!
• – The noise from the corridors could be heard quite well through the walls. The wifi was expensive and did not work very well and despite the outrageous price only one device could be online at a time. The staff in the restaurant really let the whole hotel down! We have been here before and been very satisfied, but this time the staff seemed to be schoolkids with no teacher to oversee them. For four nights straight they constantly forgot orders and did not bring the correct glasses, cutlery etc.

Brits beware, lovely hotel but staff generally seem just to put up wit

• + Comfortable large room with beautiful whirlpool bath. Food in the restaurant was excellent.
• – Apart from a couple of very polite staff my wife and I found the staff generally rather ignorant and made us feel on numerous ocassions we are foreigners to be put up with. because of this for british persons we would not recommend the hotel. We also felt the cleaners were not very thorough.

We really enjoyed our stay, the room and the service were perfect!

van der Valk: you could do much better!

• – Standard rooms: mold in shower, dirty cutlery, cigarettes everywhere on the balcony, dining average food, no housekeeping rest of the day if you are in the room and they want to clean, lousy staff

Relaxing, Quiet and Luxury

• + The hotel was very relaxing, the swimming pool was great, breakfast buffet had a wide selection of different foods and the staff were extremely friendly. They were great about our little dog and the room was kept neat and clean! The food served in the restaurant was of high quality and at very reasonable prices. We found that the internet prices were a bit steep - if you are staying more than 2 days it is worth buying access for a week!! (1 day = €16, 1 week = €25!)
• – No room service menu in the room which made ordering very complicated. Apparently it is hotel policy to not have the menu in the rooms which was a bit odd! The TV showed mainly Dutch channels - luckily with BBC and Discovery, but very limited choice if you do not speak Dutch! All the tourist information was only available in Dutch which made it seem like the hotel caters mainly for Dutch speaking customers.

Best price/quality rate and very good restaurant

• + The breakfast is excellent. Incredible variation and very good
• – Internet access was available, but relatively expensive. In a hotel such as this, which is frequented by many business visitors, free web access should be a standard service.

• + Excellent room for a reasonable price
• – VERY busy on Sunday because of Sunday buffet. No room in restaurant until 20.30 but the food was worth the price

• + Very nice hotel! High quality! Very good breakfast and dinner facilities. Location perfect if you want to go for a nice weekend out!
• – The staff was not aware of the discount price. We had to show the confirmation email by checkin and checkout. They had a totally different price in their system. Luckely we took the confirmation which stated the last minute price. This was the only minus point.

• + Very very good hotel. For us: 5 stars!!! The breakfast was outstanding! We will be back =))
