Hotel

Lay your eyes on the beautiful 17th century facades of the elegant Hotel Estheréa, situated on a quiet canal in the heart of Amsterdam. Here you'll be in the good hands of the Esselaar family, who have been running this hotel for several generations. The personal attention for their guests is in this family's blood; and you'll be sure to reap these benefits during your stay. Much has been changed since its establishment as a guesthouse in 1942. After several extensions and renovations, the most recent of which took place in 2007, the hotel has been finetuned into a tasteful hotel featuring modern, comfortable facilities. Crystal chandeliers, an aquarium and sumptious fabrics all amass to a feeling of well-being.

At Hotel Estheréa you'll be staying in stylish rooms, each of which has its own ambience. You can enjoy contemporary comforts in the hotel rooms, including a safe, wirless Internet, cable television and an ensuite bathroom. The rooms can be accessed via a lift. Enjoy a peaceful moment by reading the paper or a book in the library, or take a seat in the lounge and savour a lovely cup of complimentary tea or coffee. The hotel also offers two tasteful conference rooms allowing business guests to host succesful meetings in an intimate setting.

Beautiful canals, so characteristic of Amsterdam, envelop this hotel. Take a wonderful canal cruise or a leisurely stroll along the Singel canal to the floating flower market, where you will find a great choice of lovely souvenirs next to wonderfully scented flower bulbs. The Dam and the Central Station are within walking distance. Furthermore, you can easily reach many attractions on foot, including the Anne Frank House, museums surrounding the Museumplein and various theatres and shopping streets.

Surroundings

Hotel Estheréa is located on the Singel in Amsterdam. This quiet environment offers you Amsterdam's stunning canals, world-class museums and a wonderful choice of shops. Plus, you're also in the right spot if you fancy a night out. The Rembrandtplein and the Leidseplein are both within easy walking distance and offer a great choice of lovely restaurants, cafés, bars and theatres.

Food and Drink

You can enjoy a lovely breakfast buffet in the elegant breakfast room on weekdays from 07:00 until 11:00, and at weekends until 11:30 while you enjoy a great view of the lively Spuistraat. Furthermore, the hotel provides complimentary tea and coffee in the lounge, while the direct vicinity offers an abundance of restaurants serving cuisines from every corner of the world.

Great hotel, great staff and great service

The hotel is very well situated on the side of a canal and close to all the local attractions. Nothing is too much for the staff, and the hotel lobby, bar, restaurant and public areas are all very tastefully decorated.

Our stay was too short Wish we d stayed longer (

“My tip: Very cosy and romantic place with great staff Will definitely come back ”

    Wonderful well located hotel.

Beautiful hotel located on the Singel canal. Front desk was always helpful. Coffee, hot chocolate, pastries and candy were available around the clock. Our room was nicely decorated with a huge bathroom. Sitting areas were welcoming and the bar was lots of fun.

Since our room overlooked the canal and we had our windows opened, it could be noisy but we knew that could be the case. A canal view room is wonderful.

    Charming, safe hotel to stay.

Staff is extremely helpful. Each guest gets an iPad to use free of charge. Location perfect to get around city. Hotel is very clean and charming. Breakfast food excellent. Great coffee/hot chocolate machine in lobby. Cookies in the afternoon for snack. Felt very safe and comfortable area on ground floor to sit.

Computer in lobby which has only printing options very outdated. Needs to be upgraded.

“My tip: Dam square is well within walking distance. Tour office and restaurants are there. Great food on the fifth floor of department store there. ”

    un enchantement!

Very good hotel, with excellent location; the hotel is very calm and I appreciated the kindness of the personal.

The price of the breakfast is too high for somebody who does not eat much in the morning.

“My tip: Restaurant " the five flees" which is 5minutes of the hotel”

    A Gem of a Hotel

Attentive staff , excellent service. The ambience of the hotel was welcoming and all areas exceptionally well decorated and maintained. The buffet breakfast was very extensive catering for all dietary tastes and refreshed regularly . The standard of the food / beverages was of a high quality.

The back lift always had a slight odour - damp rising from cellar? Due to a noise problem (other guest , not the hotel) we changed rooms and the second de-luxe room was slightly smaller but this information was stated on the website - rooms vary due to the nature of the building. Very minor quibbles, overall very satisfied.

“My tip: Restaurant Haesje Claes , Spuistraat 273-5. Only 3 mins around the corner from the Estherea with a wide-ranging menu, reasonably priced , great service.”

    Old world comfort and elegance.

The lounge/bar is really comfortable, and staff are very welcoming. I like the two computers in the lobby with free internet access as an alternative to the paid wifi in the rooms. Rooms are small by international standards, but very comfortable in a grand style. Extremely clean.

“My tip: Ask for a top floor room if you want a lot of natural light.”

    A sweet Dutch treat.

We were so happy with our experience at The Hotel Estherea that we wrote the owners/managers a letter of appreciation. It offered the finest Dutch hospitality with many little touches in decor and cuisine. My husband felt that we were living in a picture perfect post card setting. We have already recommended the hotel to others and plan to visit again.

“My tip: The central location of the hotel makes it within easy walking distance of most tourist sites and public transportation. There were many medium priced restaurants in the neighborhood.”

Hotel was very clean and the staff was most helpful with any of our needs. Time and again they went out of their way to help whenever we wanted. The location is super and our canal facing room was beautiful. May is a good time to come to this magic city.

No 24/7 room service along with do dinner service. The breakfast was Ok at best.

“My tip: Bring you're own drinks for evening”
