Very comfortable and neat room.

• – The internet connection is not without problems. Free wifi at lobby is too slow with no stable connection; the cable in our room was faulty and not fixed before we left, despite our request.

Ok for 1 night.

• – Dirty carpet with a very uncomfortable bed, no such thing as a Sunday morning sleep in when the cleaning staff are vacuming outside your room at 0800.

This hotel is located central. The rooms are dirty and small.

Excellent value for money, very helpful staff and a perfect location

• + This hotel has many positive points including value for money and very helpful staff, but the single factor which probably means we will use it again is it's location. Just outside the City centre with trams every 10 minutes made it perfect for us. The local, traditional cafes were great for an early morning coffee or late night wine after a day in the City.

The small 'Eden'

• + Hotel was generally clean and tidy and the within approx 15 to 20mins walking distance to the centre. Hotel is very close to the zoo and was also within 20mins walking distance to central station.
• – Well after paying over 150 euro's a night with no breakfast, i would definatly not stay here again.The room was very small and the toilet / shower area were tiny (you could hardly move when in the toilet area). The staff were ok but generally did not acknowledge you. We were also suprised that there was a stealth tax charged (for amsterdam city tax 17 euros)which we did not expect and also thought that when booking through hotels.nl, all costs had been included. Not the best value hotel in Amsterdam and would suggest that anyone considering booking this hotel looks at others as well!!!!!

Great location, fresh air with openable windows. Walkable/ train C

• + Walkable to Central Station. We rented bikes from CentralStation. Hotel is on tram line 9 and 14, reachable from central station . Located accross Artis Zoo. Clean and Quiet. Great for ones who do not want to be right in the middle of the action, but want to see it up close!
• – Did not use the breakfast, which I believe had been lowered to $12 per day. Good breakfast for cheaper just beside hotel at English friendly coffee bar.

• – Cost was high - Room was tiny! The double that I asked for was two single beds pushed together which had single covers on them (Which really winds me up!). I'm 6ft 1 and I was far too big for the bed and stuck out the bottom. The toilet was broken in the room. I told the guy on reception the first day we were ther and I didnt see him again for the rest of the time I was there. Nothing was done and I had to fix it myself.

Nice hotel and location, few downsides

• + The room was spacious, and the location was very convenient.
• – The charge for breakfast is very high, and the selection prodvided for that price is not good. The bed sheets weren't changed at all during our 6 night stay, and supplies (e.g., glasses, spoons) were taken away but not replaced. There is a fridge available in the room, but it is locked and the key for ours wasn't available.

Just right for the University of Amsterdam

• + I was attending a conference at the University of Amsterdam, which made this hotelâ™s location especially suitable.
• – We were accommodated for the first night in a basement room that was markedly inferior (much smaller) to the rooms upstairs. We were moved to the third floor after one night, but it took some persistence on my wifeâ™s part to obtain this move.

• + The service was good, the maids made our bed's and change towels every day. It was great that we could watch televison and have many channels that we could choose from.
• – The room wasn't very clean when we came, there were dust on our bed and a spiderweb next to the window. The room was also very small, we would prefer a little more space.

The room was very cold when we first arrived because windows had been left open. It took most of the first day before the room warmed up. This made it not very cosy.

Payment in advance equals bad basement rooms.

And I had requested that one of the rooms have twin beds which was not available. It was fixed for the rest of our stay and we changed rooms. No effort was made to compensate or apologize to us. I will not stay again or recommend.

• – 1 of the 2 beds I slept in was infested with some kind of bug. I slept in 1 bed for 3 nights, then I slept in the other one for the last night and was savaged by some bed bug. The internet and film user interface was appalling. Even though you had paid for all the services (at an expensive 25euros a day) you still had to try 5 or 6 times in order to get it to work properly. The male staff on reception were particularly unhelpful, but the females were great.

• – Internet would not work in room, spoke with 2 receptionists but still no fix although the wireless internet worked in reception this wasn't really what i wanted, also my bill seemed to be incorrect got charged different rates for both nights & 30 euros for breakfast is a con! I dont think I will be staying with you again when i am next in Amsterdam

• – Very noisy because of tramlines outside. Shower tends to flood because of low lip surrounding it. Desk is ridiculously small with lamp screwed onto desk so you cant move it.

• – Room was across from the kitchen and was very loud from other guests. Room did not have any ventilation in the bathroom (no fan) and the shower curtain did not keep the water enclosed. The entire bathroom was wet after taking a shower.

• + The hotel is right next door to the zoo which was a pleasant surprise as I hadn't paid attention to that when booking. Nor did I have any intention of going to the zoo until I realised just how close it is. I couldn't fault the hotel on anything. The staff were helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. We didn't take breakfast so I can't comment on it but there is a really nice baker and an equally nice grocer with very fresh produce on the same block as the hotel. There was also a fine cigar shop nearby and a one-minute walk to the tram stop. The hotel looks like quite a walk from Dam square but it's only about twenty minutes (the trams always make it seem further than it is). I've stayed in a few hotels in Amsterdam in the past and, for the same money, this was the best yet. Thoroughly recommended.

• – The accomodations of these rooms were incredibly small. This should not be a double occupancy room. It's barely large enough for one perspn, let alone two. The shower was unacceptable as well. It was not enclosed so water would cover the floor when I got out. Water should remain in the shower, not on the entire bathroom floor. This is sub-par standard for a hotel accomodations.

• + Hotel quite close to the centre of Amsterdam (15 mins tram ride) and is in a reasonable quite location (good enough to get a decent nights sleep). After reading a few reviews about this hotel, I was in two different minds as alot of people complained about the size of the room. Yes the standard double rooms are a little small and the bathroom is tiny; but you get what you pay for. I definately have no complaints as I was on a small budget and the comfort was extremrely good.

Noise from corridor sounds very well to room and smell of marijuana also carry inside the room. 2) There should be some step from shower to toilet, because when you are in shower, the whole toilet floor is very wet. Shower curtain does not help at all.

The room was a double but there was space only for the bed. They managed to put a chair and a tiny desk, but I couldn't see why since there was no space to sit. My cubical at work is bigger than that room!!! It was also very noisy due to the tram right next to it.

• – Het hotel was zeer rumoerig, erg veel lawaai 's-nachts. Er waren ook verbouwingen op de benedenverdieping. Kleine badkamer en een ouderwets toilet.

• + gute Lage, Zimmer war im Erdgeschoss. nachts schön ruhig. Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption waren sehr geduldig und freundlich.
• – Obwohl wir früh mit Kreditkarte bezahlt hatten wurde eine Kaution verlangt. Das war nicht ok, deshalb haben wir nicht, wie vorgesehen, im Hotel gefrühstückt. Zimmer für 2 Personen zu klein und eng und deshalb zu teuer. Die Krönung: Kasten mit Toilettenpapier im Bad war verschlossen. Keine Mischbatterie, sehr altmodisch, es gab zwei Wasserhähne, heiß und kalt. Es waren zwei zusammengestellte Betten, nachts rückten sie bei jeder Bewegung auseinander. Matratzen waren zerlegen.

2 Tage in Amsterdam (Innenstadt)

• + 1. Die Lage zur Innenstadt 2. Frühstück ist sehr gut, große Auswahl 3: An die Hotels.nl: Danke für ihre Hilfe bei der Buchung ohne Kreditkarte und per Telefon (das nenne ich echten Service)
• – 1. Es sind keine kostenlose Parkplätze vorhanden (Wir haben für 1 1/2 Tage 52 € Parkgebühren gezahlt) 2. Zimmer sind !Abstellkammern! für 140€(ca 9 m²) 3. Zimmer !sehr! hellhörig 4. keine Kleiderbügel 5. Uns wurden keine Miet-Fahrräder angeboten oder sonstige Hilfe/Service, haben erst nächsten Tag herrausgefunden wie und wo Tickets und Fahrräder zu kaufen/mieten sind! Wichtig wäre ein Grundriß des Zimmers sowie eine transparente Preisliste (Ankreuzen was man haben will, Zusatzkosten Anzeige! Das würde sehr viel Enttäuschung ersparen) so das reicht erstmal!

Nur zur Übernachtung

• + Die Lage ist für meinen Zweck optimal gewesen, als reines Übernachtungshotel ist dieses Haus wirklich geeignet.
• – Das Zimmer war ordentlich, der Teppichboden und die Sanitäranlagen könnten aber eine Überholung vertragen. Ein Duschvorhang ist nicht mehr zeitgemäß, da gibt es hygienisch besser geeignete Möglichkeiten, vor allem wenn für zwei Nächte ohne Frühstück 278€ bezahlt werden müssen...

Slechte communictie tussen de medewerkers

• – Onze geboekte familiekamer was niet schoongemaakt bij aankomst (vieze handdoeken, vieze bed, wijnfles, massage olie...). Toen wij dit wilden melden was er niemnd bij de receptie voor min 10 minuten, wij vertrokken dus naar de stad. Rond half 6 toen wij terugkwamen, was de kamer nog niet schoongemaakt. Wij kregen in plaats van de familiekamer 2 aparte kamers en gratis ontbijt was aangeboden. Dit was echter niet doorgegeven aan de ontbijtmedewerker en ook niet aan de receptie volgende ochtend. Uiteindelijk hoefden we niet meer betalen dan de fmiliekamer, maar we moesten wel opletten bij het afrekenen, er wer eerst toch nog de duurdere 2 kamer prijs gevragd.

• + Gute Lage nahe der Uni, etwas abseits des touristischen Zentrums gelegen, Zentrum und Centraal Station mit der Straßenbahn schnell und auch noch zu Fuß erreichbar, Restaurants und Frühstückscafés in der Nähe, relativ ruhig trotz recht großer Straße. Insgesamt OK.
• – Bad wirklich extrem klein, nichts für Menschen mit Platzangst. Könnte insgesamt etwas sauberer sein, Auslegware sehr fleckig und nicht besonders gut gesaugt, in der Dusche etwas Kalk und Schimmel, den man mit geeigneten Mitteln in den Griff bekommt (Betten und Handtücher waren aber OK).

Für Kurztripp ganz OK

• – Uns wurde ein großes 2 Mann Zimmer zugesagt, bekamen aber nur ein kleines Zimmer mit 2 Betten die auseinander geschoben werden mussten und dadurch dann noch weniger Platz vorhanden war.

• + Straßenbahnhaltestelle vor der Tür. In 4 min ist man in der Stadt. Freundliches Personal. Saubere und schöne Zimmer.
• – Für Raucher ein bisschen unvorteilhaft, weil das rauchen im gesamten Hotel verboten ist. Als wir am 1. Abend in unser Zimmer kamen stand die Tür offen. Wahrscheinlich die Putzfrau. Es wurde jedoch nichts gestohlen. Ziemlich kleines Badezimmer. Aber für Amsterdam normal, und durchaus vertretbar.

• + Het hotel was heel netjes, het in- en uitchecken verliep zonder problemen. De ligging was prima, vlakbij een tramhalte en het centrum. Het was ook makkelijk bereikbaar vanaf het station, wat zeker een pluspunt is.
• – Alles stond erg dicht op elkaar. Vooral in de badkamer was dat een minpunt. Als je op toilet zit, zitten je knieën tegen de muur, ik kan me voorstellen als je wat langer of dikker bent dan normaal dat dat een probleem kan zijn. Voor ons ging het net. Ook in de douche plakt het douchegordijn tegen je aan. Wederom, voor ons ging dit net.

Goed hotel met een goede ligging en redelijke prijs.

Anders dan internet doet verwachten!

• – Kamers kleiner en simpeler dan internet doet vermoeden! Hadden meer verwacht voor het geld. Onze kamer rook naar rook, vooral in toilet, wanneer ventilatie / licht aan was. Simpele douche, maar doucheputje kwam omhoog tijdens douchen, koude kraan 'defect'. Bedden te zacht, rugpijn bij opstaan! Schoonmaak met Franse slag.

We hebben een prettig verblijf gehad in uw hotel.

• – Erg veel lawaai van de buren, slecht geslapen.

Het was een goed verblijf

• + Het was een schone kamer en het ontbijt was zeer goed.
• – We vonden het jammer dat er geen 2 persoonsbed stond, maar 2 losse bedden.
