Opposite Het Turfschip (The Peat Boat) lies the Leurse Haven. This is the historical departure point of Adriaan van Bergen's peat boat. In 1590 Prince Maurits conquered the city of Breda from the Spaniards with Adriaan van Bergen's peat boat. A boat trip across this historically significant water is certainly worth the effort. You can also take a lovely cycling trip through the woods and polders in the vicinity of Etten-Leur.
