Description
In the beautiful green province of Drenthe lies the pleasant and hospitable family hotel Meulenhoek, on the village green of the characterisitic village Exloo. Exloo lies on the hillside Hondsrug amidst the heaths and woods, where the hiking and biking is great. The hotel rents bikes of all kinds, with and without electric motor, and even tricycles. After a day of walking or cycling, the hotel or the beautiful terrace overlooking the village green and the original sheepfold are great places to relax.
In this green oasis it's wonderful to sleep in the comfortable beds. The rooms are well furnished and equipped with a bathroom with bath and / or shower and a toilet. Furthermore, the rooms have a television, telephone, safe and Internet access. There are family rooms in the hotel. Twelve rooms have private balcony or terrace. Six rooms are on the ground floor.
Food and Drinks
Every day from 08:00 to 10:00 h., an excellent buffet breakfast is served in the breakfast room. For lunch, the restaurant is open from noon to 17:00 h. You can also order a picnic basket.
In the restaurant guests can enjoy affordable and well-prepared dishes from the various menus. For instance, there is an extensive seasonal menu with both typically Dutch and international dishes. In addition, there is a menu for lovers of Indonesian cuisine. All dishes are prepared as much as possible with fresh seasonal produce. The restaurant is open from 12:00 to approximately 21:00 h.
The hospitable bar is open every day for a coffee, a drink and a friendly chat. The opening hours are between 09:00 and 23:00 h.

Cycling and walking can be done to your hearts? content in the beautiful surroundings of Hotel De Meulenhoek Exloo. Nearby are the magnificent scenic areas Veenpark and the Lofar area. Visit the original sheepfold opposite the hotel. From Easter to autumn the herd of 160 sheep passes through the village every day, which is an amazing sight. Also typical of Drenthe are the 5000 year-old megalithic tombs, spread throughout the province, but particularly in and around Borger. Fun for young children is the Kabouterland in Exloo with its zoo and indoor playground.
