Search a hotel
- Question: How do I find a hotel?
- Answer: You can use the search option on our homepage. If you fill in your destination, number of persons and arrival and departure dates, you will see a list of available hotels for that period. You can also search for a hotel if you do not have a specific date yet. To do so, please use the 'Do not know exactly when' option on the homepage. You can also search for hotels under a certain theme.
- Question: How can I find out if a certain hotel has rooms available?
- Answer: You can best use the search option on our homepage www.hotels.nl. If you fill in your destination, number of persons and the arrival and departure dates, the database will select a list of available hotels for that period. The prices will also be shown on this list.
- Question: How do I know where a hotel is situated?
- Answer: On each hotel page you will find a map. When you click on it, you will see a map with the hotel's location.
- Question: How do I find a hotel in a certain price range?
- Answer: If you wish to search for a hotel in a specific price range (or the number of stars), you can fill in your destination, number of persons and arrival and departure date (or tick the box 'Do not know exactly when'). If you press 'Search Hotels' you will get a list with all available hotels. By using the filters on the left side of your screen, you can adjust your search. You can tick one or more star categories and set a minimum and maximum price by using the slider bar.

- Answer: If your wish to search for a hotel with a certain facility, you fill in the name of your destination, number of persons and arrival and departure dates (or tick the box 'Do not know exactly when') on the home page. If you press 'Search Hotels' you will get a list with all available hotels. By using the filters on the left side of your screen, you can adjust your search and. You can tick the option wheelchair accessible.
- Question: Can I also make bookings for larger groups?
- Answer: This is possible. You can contact our Reservations department. They will note down your details and preferences and will contact you within 24 hours about the possibilities.

Book a hotel
- Question: How do I book a room?
- Answer: When you see a hotel that you would like to book, you can click on the hotel's name, choose a room type and then you can book the hotel immediately by clicking on 'Book now'. When you have entered your details and confirmed your booking, you will receive a booking number, after which we will send a confirmation e-mail.
- Question: Can I make one booking for several room types?
- Answer: Unfortunately you cannot. You can book several rooms of one room type in one booking, but it is not possible to book two different room types in one booking, you will need to make two separate bookings.
- Question: How much is city tax and is it included in the room price?
- Answer: City tax is not always included in the room price. The city tax differs per city; it is either a fixed amount per person per day or a percentage of the room price.
Confirmation of your booking
- Question: How will I know if my booking has been confirmed?
- Answer: As soon as you have filled in your details and confirmed your booking, you will automatically receive a confirmation e-mail. The confirmation with your booking number is also visible on your computer screen immediately after you have completed the booking.
- Question: How long does it take before my booking is confirmed?
- Answer: Your booking will automatically be confirmed as soon as you have completed the booking because hotels update their availability themselves.
- Question: I have booked a hotel but I did not receive confirmation by email. What do I have to do?
- Answer: When you make a booking, please double check your email address. If you do not receive an email after you have made a booking, your mailbox might be full or you might not have spelled your email address correctly. If you do not receive an email after you have made a booking, please send an e-mail to info@hotels.nl or call our Reservations department.
Cancel your booking
- Question: How do I cancel my booking?
- Answer: You can cancel your booking under My Booking. You can log in with your booking number and the PIN code supplied by Hotels.nl. There is also a link provided in your confirmation, leading you directly to My Booking. If this does not work, you can send an email to info@hotels.nl or call our Reservations department.
- Question: How do I know that my booking has been cancelled?
- Answer: When you cancel your booking, you will receive an email confirmation. You will also immediately see the cancellation notice in My Booking. Please note that your booking is only cancelled once you have received a notice of cancellation.
- Question: What is the hotel's cancellation policy?
- Answer: Cancellation policies differ per hotel. Should you need to cancel a reservation, please do this in time, because failing to do so may result in a no-show charge. You will find a hotel's cancellation policy in the e-mail you receive after you made a booking, under My Booking and on the page with general hotel information.
Change your booking
- Question: How can I change my booking?
- Answer: You can change your booking via My Booking. You can make a change by logging in with your booking number and the corresponding PIN code that is supplied by Hotels.nl. If this does not work, you can send an email to info@hotels.nl or call our Reservations department.
Guarantee your booking with a credit card
- Question: Will Hotels.nl charge my credit card when I make a booking or after I have booked?
- Answer: No. Your credit card details are only needed as a guarantee for the hotel in case you fail to show up without cancellation or in case you cancel your booking too late. Failure to show up without cancelling in time may result in a no-show charge.
However, there are special room types on our website that can be booked at a low price but have a condition that the credit card is charged immediately after the booking is completed, or upon arrival at the hotel. If this is the case, it is clearly indicated in the description of the room.
Please note that Hotels.nl never charges your credit card. Hotels.nl also does not charge any booking fees or costs for cancellation or changing your booking.
- Question: Is it safe to fill in my credit card number?
- Answer: Yes it is. Your credit card details are encrypted and protected against disclosure to third parties.
- Question: Is there another way to pay for the hotel room(s)?
- Answer: Yes. Most of the times it is no problem if you want to pay cash in the hotel, you just need to notify the hotel. Hotels with three, four and five stars will offer the option to pay by switch card.

- Question: Can I book a room if I do not have a creditcard?
- Answer: It is possible to book a hotel room without a credit card, but not with all hotels. You can call our Reservations department to help you find a hotel that can be booked without a credit card. They can be reached from the UK at 0800-849 6372 (toll free ) or at +31 (0)50 -317 55 10 from all other countries. Our Reservation department is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 h. till 22:00 h., Saturday from 10:00 h. to 16:00 h., and Sunday from 12:00 h to 16:00 h. (CET)
- Question: Why does it say my credit card is not valid?
- Answer: This may have to do with the expiry date of the credit card. If the expiry date of your credit card is before your departure date, the booking cannot be made. - Question: Will the hotel perform an authorization check on my credit card?
- Answer: That is possible. Some hotels do perform an authorization check on a credit card to check if it is valid. This means that the hotel will hold an amount on your account as a guarantee for the booking. This amount may vary between the cost for the first night and the total cost of your booking. The hotel may take this precaution in case you do not cancel your booking in advance (no-show) or in case you cancel your booking too late. The amount reserved will be released again after one or two weeks.

- Question: Are the rates on your website per person or per room?
- Answer: The room rates on Hotels.nl are always the prices per room for the entire stay. Only the prices in our monthly newsletter are per person per night.
- Question: Is breakfast included in the price?
- Answer: This varies per hotel and per room type. This is clearly mentioned on the website.
- Question: What are the check in and check out times of a hotel?
- Answer: The check in and check out times differ per hotel and are mentioned on our website. If you intend to arrive late or very early, we advise you to mention this on the booking form in the suggestion/remarks box.
- Question: We travel with children, can we get extra beds in the room?
- Answer: In general there are possibilities, often at an extra charge. This depend on the age of the child and differs per hotel. You can check the information on our website under the heading 'Children'.
- Question: What's the difference between a double room and a twin room?
- Answer: A double room has one double bed. A twin room has twin beds (two single beds).
- Question: Can I bring my pet?
- Answer: The symbol of a dog in a circle represents the fact that a hotel does allow pets. Please note that most hotel charge a certain amount per night for your pet. If that does not help, you can contact our Reservations department.
- Question: Where do I find the contact details of a hotel?
- Answer: In your booking confirmation you will find all the contact details of the hotel, such as the address, phone number, etc.

- Answer: If your browser is set to accept cookies then Hotels.nl does store cookies on your computer. We only store cookies with arrival and departure data and your personal details (no credit card details). We store these cookies in order to simplify your search for a hotel and the booking process.
