For instance, you can hire the hotel's Oostergoo sloop, or a whisper boat from one of the local hire companies. For those lacking sea legs, the area of Grou also offers a diverse range of possibilities including walking and cycling trips through the unique Frisian countryside, such as the Alde Feanen National Park.

The homely restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and offers an extensive menu featuring seasonal dishes as well as an alternating weekly menu. Lunch is available from 12:00 to 16:45 h, and dinner is served from 17:30 to 21:00 h. You can relish the memory of your dinner in the typically Dutch 'brown café' of d’Oude Oost, which is named after the manager's great grandfather.
