- A nice place to stay but has some drawbacks
- If you are looking for out of the way places to rest in the seclusion of the forest and wooded areas this is a nice place.You will find serinity here. Everyone bikes all around and the bike paths are amazing and fantastic. It is 1.5 miles from the train station and 4 miles from a town that has a market and a few wonderful restaurants. All driving to these places is easy and BEAUTIFUL. It is far away from the city life and the drive to town is beautiful. We needed to leave every day in the morning before the breakfast area was open, so the staff made breakfast baskets for each of us that was very tastey and complete. Nice of them to do that for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly and they all spoke english. There were many problems and they went out of their way to try and fix what ever they could.
- There was limited parking and you had to park away from hotel and that was hard when you had luggage to bring in. Their food was expensive so you had to drive to the next town to get meals cheaper. But you can get to that market 4 miles away in Oosterbek. For the rooms-They tried to give us a room with a sewer problem and it smelled and the rug had a water stain on it from problems. But we declined and they gave us another room which was acceptable. There is no air conditioning but that is typical of Europe. You could open the windows but there were no screens so bugs could fly in. We did arrive at 9 a.m. and hoped that the room may be available. But it was not. So they said to com back at 2p.m. when they published rooms would be ready. The rooms were not ready at 2 p.m. and they said to wait 20 minutes. That came and went several times. So we had to wait until 3:30 to get in our rooms. We explained we only had one hour to get washed up and ready for a special banquet we had to go to. And that didn't move things along at all. Be prepared for a late arrival to get into your room to avoid that. Many of our friends had the same problem. We brought our dog. There wasn't really any place to take the dog to eliminate quickly. In the morning I had to take her out to this small strip of grass 6 inches wide on a road way across the street. That was it. Yes they have lovely grounds and place for the dogs to run but not easy to get to at all. And not easy to get the dog to when they have to go to the bathroom fast. My dog had to learn to go on the concrete, which she doesn't do.

- The staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and unpressurised. If we return to Oosterbeek we would certainly stay again.
- On the Sunday evening our room was a little bit cold although we acknowledge that the weather generally had turned very cold the day previously. To be honest we wondered if the heating had been reduced because the hotel was much emptier after the Sunday when most people had left.

- The hotel is located in a very charming location in the countryside with easy access (by car) to Arnhem, the Openlucht museum and the Hoge Veluwe parks. The rooms are spacious and the hotel grounds are very welcoming. The hotel has an indoor pool open until late in the evening. Reception staff was very polite and efficient.
- The rooms are fairly old. Hygiene standards were low - the room was not properly cleaned, spoilt milk was served at breakfast as was an old fruit salad. Overall, breakfast room staff and housekeeping were of a relatively poor standard, not worthy of a 4 star hotel.

- The staff care is excellent at all times, There is a welcoming and restfull atmosphere in the hotel and the neighbourhood as well as in the nearby Palace and its surrounding forest. A nice suprise is the small but pleasant pool on the top floor. The Restaurant adapts meals to your requests and the food of the season - this personalisation is not cheap but we though the price was justified and some dishes were superb. The selection of accompanying wines were good but not as exceptional as some of the food.
- There are no tea and coffee faciities in the standard rooms. Breakfast was very adequate but it was not a particular high spot - maybe more seeds, muesli and fruit would lift it.

- We had a great experience from the time we arrived the Bar manager was so kind and very nice to our two children age 3 and 6. The Chef on duty made us some sandwiches and fries even though the kitchen was closed. we were so appreciate of the friendly staff we met everyone, at the reception, the dining room, the bar and the staff who came with a cot for our son. We will definitely return and will recommend it to friends.
