Only 3 kilometres away from the atmospheric centre of Genk and on the edge of nature reserve 'De Hoge Kempen', lies the 3-star Best Western Hotel Atlantis. It is a region with lots of woods, heath and fens that is perfect for long hikes or cycle tours. The hotel has been completely renovated and refurbished in 2007 with explicit design. The sauna and relax room, that are built in Eastern style, is a good place for some relaxation after a busy day. Reservations for private use can be made at an additional charge.
The spacious rooms are decorated with warm colours and offer all necessary contemporary conveniences. They are equipped with a private bathroom with a shower of bath and toilet. During your stay you have access to the bath house 'Carbon Sense' for €35 p.p. for 3 hours. This bath house, which measures 700m², is located on the upper floor of the Carbon Hotel (Europalaan 38 in Genk). The bath house offers two different saunas: a Finnish sauna of 65 °C and one of 90 °C, an authentic Turkish hammam, steambath, foot baths, 'experience' showers and baths, a treatment room for srubs and peelings and Ottoman soap massages. The bath house is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00 h.
Food and Drinks
The extensive breakfast buffet is set up on weekdays from 06:30 to 11:00 h. and on weekends from 08:00 to 12:00 h.
In the Mediterranean grill restaurant 'Ta-Jin' guests can enjoy all kinds of specialties originating from the countries around the Mediterranean Sea, such as 'tapas' and 'mezze', but also for example Morrocan casseroles.Guest can relax with a bite or a beverage in the lounge bar 'Orange Club'. The sunny terrace is a perfect place to unwind on bright days. If you prefer the peace and quiet of your hotel room, you can order room service between 07:00 and 23:00 h at an additional charge of €5.

Surroundings
Genk is situated in the lovely Belgian province Limburg and has grown into a large city because of the mining industry. This has attracted many immigrant workers in the past, which has given Genk a multicultural character. Especially the Italian community is prominent here. Genk is also known for its many shops. There are no less than three big shopping malls and one is currently being constructed (2008), which makes this a paradise for shopping enthousiasts. Because of its central location, day trips to cities such as Maastricht en Liège can easily be made.
