Many public figures stayed in Hotel de Flandre, such as the famous writer Chateaubriand in 1815, followed in 1822 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and others who were part of Louis XVIII?s retinue. Hotel de Flandre Gent is situated in a magnificent 19th century neo-classical building in the historic heart of Ghent. As soon as you enter your attention will be held by the magnificent oak staircase with original elements. On the other side of the hall is also a unique staircase that leads to the other floors. On the fourth floor, the former maid?s rooms made way for stylish loft rooms with a beautiful view of Ghent. All rooms have a bath or shower, toilet, hairdryer, television, telephone, minibar, air conditioning and safe.
Food and Drinks
Every morning between 07:00 and 10:00 h. a delicious breakfast is prepared for guests in the elegant breakfast room of the hotel. On weekends you can have breakfast between 07:00 and 11:00 h.
For an excellent lunch or dinner you can try one of the many restaurants in Ghent.
A drink can be ordered in the bar which is open from 08:00 h until an indefinite time.

Art lovers can visit the Design Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts. On Sunday, lovers of markets can follow a 3 kilometre long route along all the Ghent markets, such as St. Michael's Square, the Kouter, flower and plant market, the Ajuinlei and the vegetable market where a craft market is held from April to October. And then to the Friday Market with birds, the flea market Bij St Jacobs, to the Old Cattle Market where both animals and used bikes are sold. A short distance from Hotel de Flandre Gent is the Sint-Pieters station is located. By train the cities of Bruges, Antwerp and Brussels can be reached within an hour.
