NH Gent Belfort Hotel is a beautiful 4-star hotel in the heart of Ghent. The hotel, located on a square, is surrounded by attractive classical buildings giving the city its authentic character. Hotel guests can make free use of the sauna and fitness facilities. For business travellers, the hotel has eight multifunctional meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 550 persons. Banqueting possibilities are also extensive, ideal for weddings or other festive occasions.

The city of Ghent is a great attraction with its three famous towers: the 'Belfort' (Belfry), after which the hotel was named, the St. Bavo Cathedral and the St. Nicholas Church. NH Gent Belfort Hotel is beautifully located right in the city centre of Ghent. This historic town offers guests the opportunity to experience the famous Belgian hospitality. Ghent is centrally located and therefore cities such as Bruges, Brussels and Antwerp are easily accessible with public transport as well as by car.

Food and Drinks

Breakfast is served Monday to Friday between 06:30 and 10:00 h. on Saturday between 7:00 and 11:00 h. and Sunday between 7:00 and 12:00 h. The hotel has a top quality brasserie/restaurant called Van Artevelde, where fresh and seasonal products are used by its chefs to create exciting international dishes. The restaurant is open Monday till Saturday from 12:00 until 14:30 h. and in the evening between 18:30 and 22:30 h., the restaurant is closed on Sunday. Enthusiasts for Belgian beer or other refreshments can pay a visit to the Van Artevelde bar. This bar is open on Monday till Thursday from 11:00 until 01:00 h., on Friday and Saturday from 10:00 till 01:00 h., on Sunday from 16:00 till 00:00 h.

Great central hotel with helpful staff
  • + Excellent location, helpful staff, comfortable rooms, good breakfasts, which are served until 11 on Saturday and 12 on Sunday. Late check out on Sunday - we kept the room until 4p.m. Hire good quality bikes for 9 euro/day.

  • – Bed in room 320 felt like sleeping in a bowl...no support and saggy. Shower came out like a drizzle...the reception person misguided us to restaurants which we did not find and searched, and the two were not near what he marked on our map provided by the hotel...One of the restaurants is not even listed as we looked up both.... if the desk could provide names and addresses of nearby restaurants that would assist people staying and enjoying their time in the area.

  • – First night much too noisy!!! Staff knew about this problem, awake till 4 o'clock in the morning. Not good for a relax weekend. High price for poor noisy room. Second night was good. Price for breakfast expensive, not comparable quality with NH in Berlin

Superb customer service
  • + couldn't be in a better location, customer service was excellent when we complained of the smell of smoke in a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor - inconsiderate yobs who do that should be prosecuted, ejected from the hotel and be made to pay for the the re-decoration of the room.

One of the best Hotels I have stayed in throughout Northern Europe
  • + I have stayed in this hotel a couple of times now and I always leave with a big smile on my face. The rooms are big and spacious with furniture and fixtures of a very high quality. The beds as simply divine, pillow menus, expresso machines, large tvs, great showers and bathrooms. It is perfectly located to access the beautiful hstoric quater of Gent.
