Hotel Braams is an almost four centuries old family hotel. It is located on the central square in the characteristic village Gieten. In the heart of the natural beauty of the Hondsrug (chain of hills) you will be sure to enjoy Hotel Braams' comfortable ambiance.

Hotel Braams lies in the village of Gieten, on the Brink (central square). Gieten is surrounded by the woods and heaths of the province Drenthe. This nature area is part of the 'Hondsrug,' a sandy stretch of hills that reaches from Emmen to the city of Groningen. This is a great area for a walk or a bike ride. In the lovely natural surroundings you can visit the famous 'hunebedden' (dolmen), which were built by the prehistoric natives of this area. The enormous boulders they are built from were carried to Drenthe by glaciers in the ice age.
