Nestled in the province of Brabant between the cities Breda and Tilburg and near the motorway A58 is the hospitable Wegrestaurant Motel Gilze. You can dine in the cosy family restaurant. This motel is nice base for exploring the area, you can make trips to the Efteling, Beekse Bergen and Antwerp.

Besides enjoying a meal in the nice restaurant you can also sleep well in Wegrestaurant Motel Gilze. There are 14 spacious and comfortable rooms with good boxspring beds. There is a bathroom with bath or shower and toilet and each room has a desk with chair, safe, television and telephone. A pleasant surprise for guests of this motel is that they may swim for free in the pool four kilometres away from the Van der Valk Hotel Gilze-Rijen. They can also use of the wellness centre of this hotel, including a fitness room, sauna and solarium, at a small charge.

From the hotel there are many opportunities to explore Brabant. There is an extensive bicycle network, which practically runs in front of the motel. With nice weather it is wonderful to walk in this diverse region. You can choose from all sorts of special routes such as the Smuggling route, Trappist route and the Five Oaks route. Also nearby and very worthwhile visiting, is the nature area Loonse and Drunense Duinen. The hotel staff will gladly inform guests about all the possibilities.

Food and Drinks

Every morning between 07:00 and 10:00 h. an extensive breakfast buffet is available. On weekends guests can have breakfast between 08:00 and 10:00 h. Breakfast consists of several ultra fresh breads, savoury and sweet fillings and hot and cold drinks. The patisserie of this motel is in the hands of master pastry chef De Rouw and his business was voted best bakery in 2008. You can also eat a snack or enjoy drink on the sunny terrace, if weather permits.
The motel has an excellent restaurant and a cosy brasserie. For lunch you can choose from a variety of hot and cold dishes, salads, soups, sandwiches and fish or meat dishes.
For dinner you can choose from many hot and cold dishes, soups, main courses with fish or meat or vegetarian dishes and a wide choice of delicious desserts, including classics such as the lemon sorbet and dame blanche. The menu changes each season, in autumn there is a game menu and in spring asparagus are served. Children can choose their own menu. The restaurant is open from 07:00 to 24:00 h. The hotel bar is open from 15:00 to 24:00 h.

As I have an allergy to tobacco smoke, this was difficult to put up with. Within the price, I feel more could be done to reduce traffic noise in the rooms.
