With a ferry or a water taxi you can cross the 'Merwede' river and wander around the monumental streets of Woudrichem. You can continue your trip by ferry to the castle 'Slot Loevestein', from where Hugo Grotius famously escaped in a book chest. Nowadays there is a museum in the castle.

no night reception, my card did not work so I could not get in my room..........and I had to sleep in the room with my collegue@#$@ for me onacceptable. What can you do for me? The electricity in the bathroom did not work, I had to shave myself in the room....

The people were very freindly and warm and service was great it made our stay much better the location was away from the city and we did not have car. but a taxi was called each time by staff. and although the weather was very cold the rooms were very warm.
