Description

Bastion Hotel Groningen is located on the A7 motorway, on the east side of the city centre of Groningen. As such, the hotel can easily reached be by car. The Bastion Hotel offers good facilities at a reasonable price. It has its own free parking places and a restaurant. For some nice relaxation there is a bar and a pool hall.

Because of its convenient location, the Bastion Hotel offers a good connection to the main roads of the city and province Groningen. Within 5 minutes by car you can reach the event hall Martiniplaza, the University of Groningen, and the municipal hospital. In front of the hotel there is a bus stop for busses to the Martiniplaza, the centre of Groningen, and the train and bus station.

The hotel staff will make sure that your stay will be as comfortable as possible. Commitment and attentive service are two things you may expect from the staff of this modern hotel. As a bonus the hotel organizes a movie- or soccer night every Wednesday evening. Those who know their way around a pool table can pay a visit to the hotel's pool room.

The homely rooms all have a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. Every room has two wide single beds, a work space equipped with free wireless Internet (WiFi), and a telephone. Just 1 small negative experience: we came home at 4 am after a night out and had to wait 15min in the cold because apperently nobody heard the doorbell. There was someone in the breakfast area and when she finally opended the door she was pretty rude! Guess finishing her work was more important then taking care of paying guest. But that was just one rotten apple. Rest of the staff was great!

So because we were late to bed, we didn´t sleep this night and had to go back to denamrk next morning. I really think it was a bad and difficult thing for the young man at the reception that it´s happend and for me the baddest thing were, that the young people from the sportgroup laughed at us ( we were not "finish-dressed" as we came out. And as we heard from the leader of the group, that they had done exactly the same in a hotel in germany the week before, we were very angry. It would have been nice, if the hotel had given us a cup of coffie before we left after a night without enough sleep and without breakfast. But again - it wasn´t easy for the young man to handl a hotel and firealarm.

Ook nadien heeft de leding het niet nodig gevonden om de gasten excuses voor deze overlast aan te bieden. Al met al niet erg klantvriendelijk. Wij zullen geen gebruik meer maken van de diensten van de Bastion-groep.

Voor hetzelfde geld zit je in van der valk of een hotel midden in de stad en die zijn echt veel comfortabeler.
